Being Gary Fisher

Gary Fisher's book has finally hit print, a little late for the Christmas season. It's called "Being Gary Fisher."

It's not available through traditional book outlets like Amazon or book stores, only from Trek or through Trek dealers.

Thanks for the heads-up. A little sad that the Fisher book won't (for now?) be more widely distributed. I, for one, will try to get hold of it. Guy Kestevan was a very good choice for co-writer.

FWIW, "Fat Tire Flyer" has a good home on my cycling bookshelf.

I'm sure Gary's book will sell more of mine. I'm giving him more publicity than the people he pays to do that.

I hope so! Anyone interested in mtb/its history should read and have a copy of "Fat Tire Flyer".
In my opinion.

With Trek owning distribution of the book, hopefully they don't kill it off like they killed off Fisher's bike brand.

I am perilously close to pulling the trigger on both the aforementioned books but I'm afraid it might cause me to buy a mountain bike.

You should. Moun-tain bicycling is a fun way to get around! They even have roadies but they call themselves "XC riders"

Heck a good bit of the modern gravel stuff is morphing into sort of what the early mountain bike pioneers were doing in a sense.

It just arrived last night. The mail human left it out in the rain. Fortunately, the book was shrink-wrapped, so if you had any say in that, you saved mine from being ruined, so thank you! Once opened, the book looks great on the inside, too. I will look forward to reading it.
