Wanted: Seat Clamp for Old Schwinn
I want to put an old Brooks saddle on my old Schwinn klunker. I need the single rail saddle clamp, doesn't need to be shiny, for the skinny top section (5/8") of the Schwinn seatpost.

I have heard of people flipping the seat post upside down, putting the tapered section inside the frame. The main part is close to 7/8", so a regular clamp should work on it.

I have this shim that was in another seat clamp. It's pretty tight on a Schwinn post. You could probably make one or you can have this and shave it to fit. It will go on the post but feels like a one way trip.

I found this clamp in the bin; opening for the post measures 16mm.

This thread inspired me to look for the clamp I thought I had. When I found it, I knew it wouldn't be right for this bike with a big "MADE IN JAPAN" across the front. I put the clamp together with the post, hopefully to save searching for it in the future.

, ifin it was me I would take you up on it, delete the"made in Japan" (sand, wire wheel, file) as necessary and use at least as a place holder for the time being and get this project moving along. The 58 Paramount came with a script SP as well, several folks said they had never seen one before in 27.2 so that was a great bonus along with the HS, stem, brakes and binder bolt.

For future reference, I was cleaning up a vintage Schwinn where someone had just turned the seatpost upside down to use a standard clamp.
