Thru axle confusion

I'm trying to find a replacement thru axle for my bike, as it got scratched. The manufacturer is incredibly unhelpful with this, although I'm waiting for a reply as far as ordering a new thru axle is concerned, I'm trying to find a replacement on my own, and have the following problem:

Front: 12x100mm, L: 118.5mm, TL: 10.5mm, TP: M12xP1.5, 12 mm diameter

L is "length"
TL is "thread length"

So, what is this "100 mm"? Either the "length" is the total length, or the length without the threads -- however, adding (obviously not) nor subtracting TL from L, will make this length equal to 100 mm.

The "100 mm" is the fork's dropout spacing, i.e. the current standard for road and most Gravel bikes. The 118.5 is the overall length of the thru axle you need and the extra length allows for the thickness of both dropouts.

The Robert Axle Project ( https://robertaxleproject.com/ ) is a company that sells thru axles in a huge variety of sizes and configurations. I'd be amazed if they don't offer what you need.

Not sure what you mean by this. Which part of the thru axle was scratched? Was this damage functional or cosmetic? I ask because the only parts of the axle that can be seen are the ends

This would be a lot easier to point you to a replacement (if that is what you are looking for) if you told us what fork or frame this was for.

Got to robertaxleproject.com and order one based on the info you have.

[edit] - answered this before I read the other replies that gave the same advice. I will add for OP: just cut down your looking around time and go there. The site also has great info on what the numbers/specs for thru axles mean and how to measure them if it's not printed on the axle you're trying to replace.

I also am curious how a scratch would motivate someone to search for and buy a new TA. But far be it from me to question cosmetics!

As others have pointed out, the '100' in 12x100 has relatively little to do with the size of the thru axle you need. 12x100 is mainly a hub specification; it only tells you what the spacing between the fork dropouts should/will be and what size the thru hole will be. It says nothing about the dropout thicknesses or thread pitch. Dropout thicknesses vary widely as does the actual threading used (more so for 15mm thru axles). Since you know the diameter, thread diameter, thread pitch, and overall length you have everything you need to purchase a replacement thru axle. That size is very common for road bikes using 12x100 hubs so you'll have many options for a replacement.
