Thought I would throw mine in here. Made by Teschner/TI sports for the 7up colorado cyclist team circa 2001. I bought it as a basket case in 2009 from a seller in Colorado Springs.

Ben, was thinking about you - and an earlier question from you on how these were made - recently as i spotted a damaged fluidisk for sale on the Russian craigslist. It had a hole showing some of the secret. Also a frame like this last one (i guess i have posted it once before my hiatus) is still up for sale for like eur 1800 but given some current situations it might just be stucked there for eternity.

The how it made it there is not obvious but he tried to sell it for 9k USD 4 years ago in LFGSS. It had appeared here in the early days on a few pics. I remember seeing one for sale on ebay for a long time a few years back from singapore if i remember correctly maybe it was also this bike.

I'd put my cents on some small factory if not home made stuff (notice spoke holes and "regular" hubs BUT really detailed work around the valve stem hole). Nicely made and definitely interesting stuff (was - as auction ended) although the graphics are slightly off for what they try to look like, but extra point from me, they didn't write Silva on it, if it is not that.

Here's a Davidson road/track funnybike I made in about 1986 I think. I probably posted it in this thread at some point, but I only had like 1 or 2 pics then. More recently it came back to the Davidson shop and I happened by so I took more pictures.

The Kilo/Pursuit bars:

Bars made from Cr-Mo steel, aircraft wing-strut airfoil tubing. Not superlight but incredibly stiff due to triangulation, "no give".

I made prolly around 20-30 funnybikes and other extreme TT bikes, some of which were ridden to medals at Nationals and Pan-Am games or to set records. One went to the Olympics. I almost never took any pictures though. I was probably too poor to be able to afford film and processing, maybe even a camera? Yeah I should have paid more attention to documenting them (and also to making money!) But I just loved making bike frames, hardly cared about anything else.

I remember when you posted it in the dawn of this thread, it was after the pic of Kiritchenko snapping the HB on the Laser mid-lap, and you commented that with such a triangulated design it would never happened.
This bike is pure art, I'm sure it was a deadly weapon for those it was built for, and its also a nice eye candy for pretenders like me... could watch it all day.. smooth as butter, I like it.

Was it industry practice at the time to make the gusset fairings out of fiberglass?

I don't think I ever saw any done with fiberglass, but I don't know everyone else's process. Lots of builders are secretive about these things.

Mine had glass in the composite, but not in the form of fibers. I'm not a composites expert but I gather that fiberglass, though it varies all over the map in respect to strength, is generally stronger than what I used, glass microballoons. My fairings (I hesitate to call them gussets) were both lighter and stronger than if they were made from epoxy only, but probably could have been stronger if they had fibers. That probably would have been heavier though. And since the fairings aren't intended to be structural, I wasn't too concerned with strength. I just wanted them to be strong enough to hold up in use, which I can safely say (now all these years later), they are.

Even if a fairing cracked though, embarrassing though that would have been, it wouldn't have affected the ride any, because they add so little stiffness, virtually none compared to the steel.

Hey Ben, unfortunately not, as they hardly ever pop up in the Lattz price range of 100, max 150 EURs or in the free giveaway section But I would not mind a CIÖCC one day.
These Boschettis are nice, found them for sale in the local ads together with bunch of others, it felt like they religiously collected all of them in a Pokémon Gotta catch 'em all manner...
