Picked up a 1998 Bianchi Trofeo the other day off CL for my first road bike. Has the original Campagnolo Avanti groupset which is in pretty good condition. Swapped out the saddle and added a rack on the back for my commuting needs. Also came with Profile Design Century aerobars, an older Trek computer, and some older Look pedals.
All in all got it for 250 which I am really pleased about!

1977 Nishiki Olympic Royale Mixte
My GF is a roadie and recently expressed interest in a city bike. Neither of us are really sure HOW much it'd get used and since it’ll often be locked up in a city we didn’t want to worry too much about it getting stolen. I picked this beauty up for a Benji. It shifts really well, goes and stops, etc but certainly needs some TLC.
I’ve already got some Marathon tires on order, some ebay bolt on 27" aluminum wheels, and new brake pads, so add another ~$170 to the bike. After putting about 20 miles on it around town this weekend she really likes it, so those upgrades should do for a while, unless the chain needs to be replaced or something, but these 5-6 speed chains are pretty inexpensive. At this point she’s happy with the gears, so I think it’s gonna stay a 10-speed. She also seems to want either a rack or a basket since backpacks are just silly, so I picked up a wald medium basket.
I've gotten the Suntour V-gt luxe pretty dialed but it seems like the screws might have some wear on them and they turn REALLY easily, I feel like vibrations could send them out of whack. There are these little spring clips that keep the screws from turning but I'm not sure they work that well.
Nishiki Mixte - Album on Imgur I understand this is just a $100 old steel bike, but it's surprisingly cool to me. I love the lugged frame, all the little details (like the heart for the shifter cable guide), and the head tube badge.

There's not a spring, it's more of a... clip. It looks like an original part, but it kindalooks like a paper clip cut in half or something. It looks like it's job is to keep the screw from turning too much. I have a feeling there's just some wear on the screw so it's not as tight as I'd like. There's an expanded diagram posted on this site and no spring shown.

Will add my wife's new classic I found at a garage sale for $25. Still pending some additional cleanup, will come back and update with more sparkly pictures at that time. 1984 Bianchi Limited.

Just finished my 85 Pro Miyata. Still tweaking the fit. Also trying "real" photos. Looks like I need a wider backdrop.

'88 Schwinn Circuit
All original 1988 Schwinn Circuit with full Shimano Sante groupset and tri-color 600 pedals.
The story goes this bike was used a fair amount for the first five years of life but resided in a basement from 1993 until last week. Absolutely pristine other than discoloration to the seat. And the best part - it fits!

Not sure if this counts since the frame and fork are actually new, but it's vintage-inspired and I built it with some older parts.

Look What Walked into the Fly Shop
I guess I'm becoming "That Guy" around town. Had a customer call me and ask if I had any interest in an early 80's Olmo Nuovo Sprint. Full Galli grouppo, I just couldn't say no. A new chain and some rubber and it was ready for the shakedown ride this morning Very sweet ride but I need practice on the friction shifting. Been a LOOOONG time since I had friction.

Nishiki Custom
I purchased this Nishiki in 1988/9 and road it a ton back in the 1990's. Stopped riding years ago but could never part with this bike and it moved with me from California to Utah 18 years ago. It has been hanging in my garage for quite a while now and I plan to clean up the bike a bit and start riding again (with toe clips and cleats ).
I also posted up in the Nishiki Serial Number Database thread with more photos if interested.

Diamond Back Master TG
Here's my new 92 (I think?) Diamond Back Master TG. Right now, it's a definite Frankenbike: Shimano Sport LX Shifters, Front Derailleur, Brake Levers, and Crankset; Modolo Speedy Calipers, Look Pedals, Shimano 105 Rear Derailleur, Araya wheelset with 7 speed Uniglide Cassette, Nitto Pearl Stem, SR Sakae Modolo Anatomic Bars, and a Cheapie Velo Imitation Concor Saddle. I think it's gonna make a nice rain bike.

Here's my 1987 (I believe?) Nishiki Prestige. Just picked up a San Marco Vintage Rolls saddle to replace the generic one that was on there before. I think it goes well with the rest of the bike.

Nice Nishiki. I just joined a few months ago and I find I'm really liking all these Nishiki's a lot. Probably because I had one as a teenager (not sure how it got away and I don't even remember the model).

^ Thanks, definitely been enjoying the bike and it still rides great. The San Marco feels nice and looks great, but certainly there are lighter saddles out there (382g). I wasn't too concerned about that, I just wanted something that looked good, felt good, and went along with the rest of the bike. Next up on the to-do list is replacing the brake hoods and swapping out the black bar tape for white.

Picked this guy up from a coworker for 40$ today, its all original including tires which are surprisingly in good shape. Not sure on the year but assuming early 80's, I believe these were low end Raleighs but I'm not sure. I haven't decided what I'm gonna do with it yet, for now I'm gonna put a different seat, bar tape and gonna try and get some brifters on it instead of those wrist killers as I call em, Kinda wanna throw an entire new groupset on it and some 700c wheels.
