The Thrift Store Italian Pt2 Details
Thanks all for your input. I’m too sentimental to part out the Fiorelli, and it seems it’s a reasonably unique example of that period. I decided to do a conservative restoration. But first, I couldn’t resist a quick run, ok cruise, around the block. Just put on a spare set of wheels, and a little lube in rear derailleur brought it back to life. Lack of clips made negotiating those pedals a trick. It’s a comfortable frame, a bit tighter wheelbase than my Raleigh International. Here’s some detail images, the badges…

Shifters and derailleurs. The front and rear are early Records. The front, with no slit in the cable stop. In the rear you can see the non-toothed, ball bearinged, steel jockey wheel at the bottom. The cable end is soldered. Cast bronze, you gotta love the Italians.

Very nice bike, glad you decided against turning it into parts. Nice examples like that made before the bike boom are hard to find!

That's about the same as my Fiorelli, except mine had the remnants of a foil sticker on the DT instead of your nice lettering and mine is much worse shape. Also purchased at a thrift store (~$80 I think) Mine also had most of the same parts(cockpit, cranks, hs, wheels) as well with it. I think there is a 1960 Fiorelli catalog on Velobase, which is what my hub lockrings were marked. I forget what model it's listed as, maybe World Champion? I've been meaning to get mine out to play with, it's a bare frame hanging in the garage.
The only pics I can find are as a fixed gear scorcher for exploring a local park.

when you peel the tire off, the spoke should fill the entire nipple to near or at the end, as these are tubulars, even a thread beyond.
Unless the spokes have extraordinary long threaded sections, way too short.

The length of the spokes vary around the wheels. Perhaps 55 or so years ago someone wasn’t being careful 🤔

Still looking for the catalog scan, I could have sworn it was on Velobase. Going to try to check another stick drive to see if I have it downloaded somewhere.
