Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm in pain with no end in sight and want it to stop. I hope I don't let that lead me down the risky path.

The patient needs an advocate who can guide them through the medical decisions, the paperwork and insurance BS. No one really has your interest as the main concern and the Doctor doesn't seem to understand things from the patient perspective.

Sigh.
So true and an old story. I am so sorry you are going through this and hope this time they find a fix!

Looks like the bomb cyclone nor'easter will bring just enough snow inland to us to ruin the weekend for cycling.

Phooey.

it looks like we’re going to be spared up here, our house in Marblehead, not so much. It looks like we’re going to get 18-24 there with 25 foot seas and gusts to 70mph.

We are on a hill, so no threat of flooding, just have to make sure the wind doesn’t tear the roof and siding off.

Yet another Covid silver lining. I had this horrible throat infection for the past couple days. Normally I would go to the Dr and get antibiotics and be done with it. What with Covid protocols, one doesn't just go to the Dr. One has to have a very good reason, just to get in the door of the clinic. And then there is the likelihood of being sent off for testing. Not wanting to mess with any of that, I chose to ride it out. I figured that, no matter how uncomfortable I was, if the infection was life-threatening it would produce a fever. It did not. And the worst of it appears to have passed.
