Addiction 2022.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

During the noon hour? We might have both been on it at the same time.

Uh- Oh, I have a bit of a cough. Better get tested tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'm sipping on a Jager + CBD on the rocks. Hope that helps.

I drove about 9 hours today -- Syracuse to NYC and back. The hardest leg of the trip was going from Chelsea to the Holland tunnel at rush hour.

City driving is so much fun!

Back to the Lincoln Highway

This is a great stretch of it for cycling (usually a big rig or two per year get stuck in the snow/ice out here when I-80 is closed)

I backed the tension off and nothing happened, not really louder or quieter. I notice it jumping while backpedaling. In the biggest cog, it runs smooth pedaling forward but if I back pedal, it drops down 2 cogs and seems to bind a little regardless of tension

Some morning viral cogitations for the medical types. I awoke with a headache, something I never have. My first thought was relapse. My second thought was " maybe it never left". Just because I'm slowly recovering..... Perhaps the recovery is slow because there's still immune system/virus action going on. Or because the system was hit so hard in those few symptomatic days that it naturally takes time to build back up.

The original one is in Green Lane, near the park. I camped at the park before the starts of some rides, including the Quad Counties, and had dinner at Chiaro's.

I have recently made strides with my latte art, but I don't think that I could do that... not that I'd want to.

Exactly. Leave at noon to be in Bakersfield by 8 in the morning. 55mph speed limit, and I-70 didn't go all the way through to I-15. Good thing we installed an 80 gallon "unsafe at any speed" fuel tank that upped our capacity to 120, with the two saddle tanks. I could make it to St. George without stopping.
