Addiction 2022.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I haven’t seen a mouse, or evidence thereof, in a couple of years. I think word has gotten around about Stephen. BTW…It’s been around 4 years since he moved in. January 13, 2018.

I did not leave the property either. My wood shop is ten paces from my porch door, and the dogs and I walk the back 40 daily.

I spent a good deal of time rewiring that pole lamp. What should have been a ten minute job. But the pole was plugged up with something. I discovered it unscrewed into three pieces and that helped a lot. Got it all done and it didn't work. Figured it was the ancient switch so got a new one. Nope. Change the bulb. Nope. I found the cord in my electrical spare parts bin. Turns out both wires were fastened to the same pole. Wtf? Fixed that and all is hunky dory. But it badly needs a shade.

And I did some wood work in lieu of bike riding

If I may ask, what position did you leave, to come to this new one? If I may not ask, ignore the question.

i don't like leagues changing the game. For example, I've hated the DH in baseball since it began.

Tomlin is a good enough coach to take a terrible team and old broken QB and squeak into the playoffs because they don’t believe in rebuilding. What they do next year will be interesting.

I was a manufacturing engineer at an aerospace machine shop.

Now I'm a bike mechanic. Definitely happier now.

Same here. Wasn't the headset. I think it was the pump, knocking on the top tube.

The 'hooty' brakes turned out to be WAY off center. Once I re-centered the calipers, the hoot went away. The noisy FD turned out to be noisy RD. Too much cable tension, but only just. I should have known from the hesitant shifting to the smallest 2 cogs. I did fix the front brake cable, though, so there's more than a butt hair between the pads and the rims at rest.
