Is anyone else from the PDX-Salem area C&Ver's going to ride this event in a couple of weeks? I will be there on my 1962 Girardengo and riding either the 50 or 70 mile route. Can you say "post ride beer?"

It is a lovely ride but this ride was $35 entry just a few years ago.

It did have the food they advertised.

Now they think it's Eroica level.

$100 to ride with hundreds of my closest friends?

Would rather just ride with some of my closer ones and stop for pizza and beer along the way.

Pedaling not required on the Petal Pedal:

"We welcome all bikes. If you ride with an e-bike, please be aware that you are responsible for the battery charge and not all stops have electricity available at them.

Due to the general heavyweight of many e-bikes, please be aware that not every SAG or support person is capable of carrying or lifting your bike (thanks for giving them a hand). Accommodations will be made, but it may take longer than other bike types."

No doubt, Midway Pizza! Yet enjoy more than one type of biking experience. Rides like this, pageantry, scenery and support make it fun, and for some, a feeling of safety. There's also the social benefit angle too. Anyway, looking forward to both Midway and Silverton!

Headed roughly toward Midway shortly. Wine pickup!
