We did have AC when I was a ute (not savages like rjones28 ), but to use it less (save $$$) my parents sometimes ran a window fan in the morning/evening when it was cooler outside than inside. It helped, somewhat.
Couldn't live without AC here. There are very few days when open windows are an option. We don't even keep screens on them.

Go to the mall on the other side of town, or move.

true. Our local mall is still open. For now. Bonus feature is it is near the Kennesaw State University campus.

a Rabbi , a Priest and an engineer were to be executed by guillotine. The Rabbi is up first, praying fervently for God to save him. As luck would have it, the mechanism is faulty and the blade remains hung up. By the rules of the time he is set free. Next up is the Priest, praying just as hard. Somehow, the mechanism remains hung up and he to is set free. Finally the engineer is brought up. Just as he is about to be strapped down he looks up and says, "Hang on. I see what the problem is.'

30 hours with no rain. I got my Sunday ride in. I ate home grown musk melon as an appetizer to lunch. I mow, with the weedeater, more than once a week in the tropical storm season. I mow whenever it's dry enough to do it. I will be mowing shortly, after I eat lunch. I put a first generation Cyclone rd on the Letour Luxe(the VX is badly worn), paired with Suntour Symmetric shifters. Wow!! Truly a match made in heaven. Why would anyone want index shifting when friction can be so smooth and precise? And the cables don't fray even. Symmetric shifters are self-triming. Another giant plus. I am not happy with the saddle though, but I have to test it, so I have to live with it. I am a grandfather without ever having been a father. Happy Father's Day!

Have not heard any unusual noises. It’ll either be that or a Freon leak in the coil. It’s still one of the old type Freon units, so if it’s a leak we will replace the system since recharging is very expensive. We changed out the upstairs unit about two years ago due to the Freon issue. We’ve been prepared to have to replace the downstairs systems since.
We have a company we use for the house and office building. They have always steered us right. Will be calling them tomorrow.
