Aww I sometimes wonder about her. I always felt bad -- mom ponied up the money so 13-year-old daughter could do a thing she wanted to do and then the internet mocked and ridiculed her mercilessly because people are terrible and everything is terrible and awful. Looks like the caterpillar is already ready to pupate - it just took a huge watery dump and is roaming the enclosure, both signs that it's ready to settle in to a chrysalis

I was short all through Junior High. Literally the second shortest boy in my class, till the summer before 10th grade. By senior year I was 5'11", but I had a long history of NOT being involved in any team ball sports, so I had zero learned skills. I went out for track, because all I had to do was run fast and I could do that. Football, though - you'd think a guy that size who could run fast would be useful, especially in an area where everyone's short for some reason, but no. Lack of learned skills. I warmed the bench.

I had hellacious hops back then at 60 or 61. Topped out at 65 in college, now Im 64 on a good day.

Yes, it was in the garden eating carrot greens when we found it. My son brought it in to the house in a jar (with some more carrot greens), and I thought that it needed more space, so I slapped together the enclosure.
