Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Aww I sometimes wonder about her. I always felt bad -- mom ponied up the money so 13-year-old daughter could do a thing she wanted to do and then the internet mocked and ridiculed her mercilessly because people are terrible and everything is terrible and awful. (I mean, didn't we all do cringey **** when we were 13?)

I just looked and I guess she's doing OK -- https://www.avclub.com/friday-s-over...y-g-1847112849

Looks like the caterpillar is already ready to pupate - it just took a huge watery dump and is roaming the enclosure, both signs that it's ready to settle in to a chrysalis

Or in my case, shouted abuse at the opposing team.

I was short all through Junior High. Literally the second shortest boy in my class, till the summer before 10th grade. By senior year I was 5'11", but I had a long history of NOT being involved in any team ball sports, so I had zero learned skills. I went out for track, because all I had to do was run fast and I could do that. Football, though - you'd think a guy that size who could run fast would be useful, especially in an area where everyone's short for some reason, but no. Lack of learned skills. I warmed the bench.

I was 6 foot by the end of 9th and never got taller. Also never played any team ball sports. Was 4 man on golf team but that's about it.

Yes, it was in the garden eating carrot greens when we found it. My son brought it in to the house in a jar (with some more carrot greens), and I thought that it needed more space, so I slapped together the enclosure.
