Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That night we took our host and his wife to The Machine Shed for dinner. What a feed-fest. I had a giant stuffed pork chop. The sides were served family style, brought out in giant bowls. (There were 15 of us.) Then we had ice cream at some locally famous place. Cannot remember the name.

On the Mississippi. Davenport, IA on the west side. Moline, IL on the east side. Rock Island, IL in between those two. The area now actually consists of more than 4 cities.

I didn't post a map and where I put the Quad Cities in the wrong place, after having (allegedly) ridden there on a bicycle.

I'm an East Coast Westerner, to be more specific. West of the big mountains.

I thought those were car tires. In rather odd packaging.
