Sounds like they replicated a Rohloff with slightly wider gearing intervals and through axle. Not interested.

Rohloff hubs have been around for a bit over 20 years, that is long enough that I expect they will be around later if mine needs service.

I like the part about easily separating the hub and spoke carrier, if only 'normal' drivetrain hubs with gear clusters had that feature, no problems changing a spoke then.

edit: makes it nice and easy to take out for oil changes, or to remove and ship for service supposing that was needed.

Not afraid of leak...so much as it doesn't work with standard shifters anywhere. At least with Shimano or SRAM brifters you can generally get service at any old LBS in the USA at least.

I like the idea of thru-axle but would still rather have a good ole reliable Rohloff. It is a well proven system that has been around a long time and probably will be around for a lot longer. I will say it is a neat hub and one I would love to try but I want to see it belt compatible and electronically shifted.

However I would rather just see Rohloff go thru-axle and go to a Center lock or at least 6 bolt design. Those are really my only major gripes I could have. Sure lighter weight is nice and this and that but really if you could just allow thru-axle and standard rotors that would be more than fine.

the idea of interchangeable parts where with one hub you can use it on three different frames and also multiple wheels, you just need to swap a shell that houses the hub, is excellent. but the proprietary shifting worries me too.
