Schwinn Voyageur
Finished my Voyageur. Have only been able to ride around the neighborhood. Hope the weather is good Monday to take it for an extended run.
From the small rides so far it rides like a Caddy. Longer wheelbase really seems to make for smooth ride and easy handling.

I've had several Voyageurs and really liked them.
I also get my bars up high for comfort.
So many times I've bought a vintage bike with the bars set low and ride for a mile or 3 I'm ready to get rid of it.
Instead I install a tall stem and voila ...
comfort and riding joy.
I say forget whatever traditional aesthetics used to be the norm and go for a tall enough stem that allows one to ride a vintage bike in comfort.
For those who prefer low bars, great, enjoy.
In the past low bars didn't bother me but reaching geezer status the old back ain't what it used to be.
Safe riding to all.

Well said and you express my thoughts very well. I’m in my late 60’s and my flexibility is not what it once was.
Bought a new track bike. Set it up with bullhorns on a stem extender that puts the bars level with the seat. It’s is not as attractive as one with the stem “slammed”. But it is now comfortable and climbs like a scared cat.
With a bit more saddletime, I have lowered the bars ,on the Schwinn, so the tops are about level with the saddle. Will shorten the cable housing some to cut down on the loops when I can get to them.
In the near future, I hope to be getting a chrome 1966 Schwinn Paramount. It will be gettin a Tall Nitto stem and wider bars to make it comfortable “for me” to ride. I will also change the gearing to something more suited to the Kentucky hills near me.
My point being, I choose to make my rides comfortable “for me” to ride them.Everyone else, please do with your rides as you see fit.
i appreciate seeing most all of them.
