WTB Park Tool HTS-1

Looking to buy an old Park HTS-1 (Head Tube Straightener) tool. I am located in the northeastern US. This is the tool used to straighten top tubes and down tubes. Please send a private message if you are interested in selling one. Thank you.

You might be able to rent or borrow one at a local older bike shop? Or a frame builder?

Are you planning to straighten a lot of frames or just one?

The last of the old school bike shops went out of business here about 10 years ago. I have just the one frame to do, so either looking to buy the tool or find someone who works with the tool and will work on the frame. It's not a large adjustment, but it's one of those things where you put the straight edge up to it and it's off a little.

Where are you located? I think we had one when I worked at Northampton bicycle. You would need to get the head mechanic on the phone I think, nobody else would have any idea what you were talking about.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll poke around and I may contact them. I have a couple leads on tools or repair services I'm running down and I'm trying to get a fix that will set the frame right and not break the bank (it's a conventional steel frame, nothing too exotic).

That makes sense as some of the old style bike shops had the Park or similar tools for setting frames of conventional steel back in shape. We had a small, old style bike shop near where I live until about 10 years ago. It suffered in the 2008 downturn and closed a couple of years later. When the old style bike shops really began to close down, it wasn't so much the inventory loss that hurt (though that did hurt some), it was the skills, tools, and services for old school repairs that was a big loss.
