This is my 2000 Dream Plus...bought the frame back then, and built as you see it now. Just added a medium cage rear derailleur with 13/29 cassette. This is my carbon chaser. Extremely fast with a rock solid bottom while being comfortable over distance. I never get tired of this bike, and its part of a 4 bike rotation I work. I’m coming up on 71, and that’s not slowing me down a bit..

My 1990 SLX SC. Again the medium cage rear derailleur with 13/29 cassette. I’ve built my working group with all interchangeable parts and wheels. Makes it much easier to build out spares and keep everything in order. This SLX has the profiled spiral conic down tube, where the diameter of the tube increase’s as it heads into the bottom bracket. Makes for a very stiff bottom, and it really scoots out when you step on it hard. The ride picks up quite a bit of the road, and at my age, I tend not to ride this baby over 40 miles, as I’ll feel it the next day. But, when it comes up on rotation I’m ready and willing....

My 1985 SL. The SL tubing makes for one of the most comfortable and forgiving rides with any of the steel tube sets in my opinion. I’m amazed every time I ride this bike. It soaks the entire road like a low mod carbon. You can easily spend all day on this bike and feel good the next day. Again a medium cage rear derailleur with 13/29 cassette.

And to round out my 4 bike group is this 2011 low mod carbon bike. In today's terminology, this would be considered an 'endurance' carbon bike. Again, a medium cage rear derailleur with 13/29 cassette. An absolutely comfortable ride for distance work. All of the bikes are running 25mm Vittoria tires.

1993 Bridgestone MB 1. I took the bike out for a 40 mile spin today over some gravel and with a fair amount of climbing (at least for central IA!). There was right around 2,000 ft of climbing.

The bike is pretty much all original other than tires, brake pads, grips, and pedals.

I've just finished my 1981 Trek 412 resto-mod project:



The 1 x 9 Deore setup works really well around town and on the local trails.



My commute has a long stretch of cobblestones along the river. The 35mm tires on this bike just float over that section like a cloud.



This one is definitely a Keeper.

I'm nearly 50% more than 50 so I guess I qualify?
(Born in UK 30 December 1946 to be precise.)

My current machines are listed under my monicker & I ride all of them still.
Couple of them here:

Carrera Podium. Columbus Genius tubing & mostly Veloce components. Using 28 Delta Cruisers here which are so comfortable on our corrugated local roads. Does this qualify as a Gravel Bike??

Next is my Orbit Gold Medal with 531C tubing (with Touring angles & weighing 24lbs here. Quite unusual.)

Has a rack & panniers now & gear changers up on the bars, & it's my regular shopper/light tourer.

Scott ESUB Tour for my really old age: ) Only done 90 miles from new, but lovely & relaxing to me.

I can't drive these days (failing eyesight) but this is the next best thing in my opinion.

One more only. Don't wanna bore anyone: )
1950s Royal Enfield Superlight?? Here's 2 of them. The red one is 1955ish & refinished & modestly modified (Retro Mod?) with a four speed FM hub.

The black (1960) one I bought to do the same. But the original paint is so nice I will not refinish it. Running SS here. Both are 531 main frames & so nice. Flat bar Tourists originally.

Oh, man, the International has always been my Grail bike. I haven't found one within my financial reach yet. I suppose if I sold about four of my other bikes I could get there, but that's going to take some serious thought. Beautiful bike, Ascherer! Even more so because you have tailored it to your liking without compromising the original design intent. In my experience, that is a tricky proposition. Bravo!

It was a beautiful fall day and I managed to get in a 20 mile ride on my favorite path. I like to ride one of my mountain bikes as the days get cooler. I look for gravel to ride in the fall and the fat tires handle the leaves on the paths well. This is my 1992 Trek 950 (one of the lugged Trek MTBs) that I recently rebuilt. I'm really enjoying the trekking bars. The continental 26 x 1.75 travel contact tires roll nicely over any rough stuff. There are a lot of water views and tall grass on the ride.

Riding more old 3 speeds that were made before I was born. Adding some refreshing cruising riding in between the racing bike action. Rebuilding a '50s (?) Hercules (riding between build phases, rebuilt front wheel this week), continuing to tweak the Raleigh Sports, and flying around on the Fondriest; while using the Batavus as an "all terrain" cross rider. The "LL BEAN" Cannondale covers the rest of the terrain.

1987 French Steel

Purchased summer 1987 at Woensdretch AFB (NL) base exchange and shipped to Illinois in March 1988. With the exception of the rear derailleur, brake pads, tires and water bottle EVERYTHING on her has been there since 87 (and it all works perfectly, from the headlight to the tail light, from the bell to the kick stand). Some folks have said that I should change out the 32 year old cables but I guess I just don't get it. She brakes just like she always has and her shifts are crisp and clean, so why bother? If the "old owner" is happy with the "old bike" then all is well. This past weekend, I rode her 32 miles with no issues. BTW that was my first 30+ mile ride since I was 28 years old back in Holland (old dude now at 60).

Sneak peek of the garage queen. I’ll do a complete photo shoot later on, but let’s take a look.

Just re-taped the bars, new hoods and new saddle. This is the first year 1988 Colnago Super Sprint. The next year they added chrome head lugs to the Super Sprint, so this is really a one-off. All NOS Super Record. The BB even has the titanium axle. A bit amazing they were using titanium back then. Overall it’s been ridden less than a 1000 feet to check the build. It’s just way to nice to ride. I’ll probably trade her off in the near future,. Let the next person feast their eyes over it for a couple of more years.. And I do have the pedals!

With the pedals on. I originally purchased this Colnago Super Sprint from an east coast one-time racer. Later in life, he turned Vintage builder and mechanic. This is an example of one of his finer creations. We’ve stayed in touch.

Over the years I’ve upgraded a number of the parts that needed attention. Have had the mechanic go through it a couple of times to fine tune minor issues. The last upgrade was new bar tape, hoods, new saddle, new Cinelli bar and stem, new tires, and some work with the pedals. Again, I'll trade this remarkable bike to the next lucky soul one day. It’s been an education and unique experience to own.

This is a tight, short-wheelbase racing bike. I replaced the 700c wheels with 650b wheels and fat tires. The frame is titanium, and the fork is carbon fiber. I rode it to class on Thursday. (I'm back in college.)
