One guy I ride with is always chastising me for my reaction to motorists stupidity. The other day the shoe was on the other foot, he got the close pass. Funny....he couldnt follow his own advice.

Going through a rotary this AM had a guy who would have cleared by the time I hit the entrance stop right in the middle to wave me on. Resulted in locked tires and a WTF just go comment from yours truly.

I pretend not to see them waving me on until they go. The problem in the midwest is that people are either overly-polite-to-the-point-that-they're-actually-putting-me-in-danger-but-think-they're-doing-me-a-favor OR actively-trying-to-run-me-off-the-road-in-their-monster-truck-with-a-blue-lives-matter-sticker. There is no middle ground.

I don't know if it's due to the pandemic or what but motorists have been more kind lately around here. Sure, there are still jerks but their numbers seem fewer recently.
Saturday there was a freeway closure and traffic was diverted onto the normally quiet road we were using. There were suddenly hundreds of cars and trucks but everyone was cool. People let us through when traffic bunched up and one guy held traffic back when we went through a tunnel.
I don't like flipping off drivers because they can kill us if they choose. A friend flipped off a driver who then circled the block and hit him with his car, knocking him into a parked car. He wasn't badly hurt, luckily. Another friend had a similar experience but he was knocked unconscious when the car hit him. A group of about 5 friends were riding along and got into it with a driver who then jumped out with a cane and started swinging it at the riders. One of the riders is a martial artist and subdued the idiot until police arrived.
I was riding with a friend who is a Viet Nam vet and will fight anyone, anytime. A kid in a diesel truck did the rolling coal thing to us and got slowed by traffic ahead. My friend gave chase and the stupid driver made a right turn and almost hit some kids in a crosswalk. It was very close and left all of us shaken.

Ambient temperature is allegedly only 75° right now, but the sun is already too warm for BillyD.

Sounds corporate. They can kiss my "team" a**!
But you're right, my mentality definitely contributed to my bumpy career path.

Odd to see a duck in the front yard. I think the squirrel is thinking the same thing.

In defense of drivers, 99+% of the drivers I encounter are doing it right, or at least trying - giving a wide berth when passing taking their obvious turn at stop signs, no roaring ahead to cut me off for a right turn. Hell, they even let me make left turns. So I've taken to waving and giving thumbs up a lot more frequently, to reward good behavior. And I try not to yell at the idiots, because I think a lot of them are looking for an excuse.
There's a thread on the NorCal regional forum about some A-hole in a black Dodge Ram who not only buzzed cyclists on a local climb, but actually stopped his truck and got out to berate them. They got his picture, and as a fat, middle aged white guy, I was unsurprised to learn that he's a fat, middle aged white guy. They also reported it to the police.

Everyone see the 2019 drone footage clearly showing the giant crack in the I-40 bridge? Oops, missed a spot.
