Yet another 22 foot powerboat sitting beside an oversized igloo. Everywhere you turn, there is another one. You just cannot get away from these here in south-central NC (USA).

ps. The sign says something like "Richardson's Thermal Controls". It has had this 'just abandoned last month look' for about five years now. The other buildings on the property (out in the country-side near Derby, NC across the road from a big solar farm) are associated with some kind of sign company where you do see signs of life on occasion. I have ridden by this place hundreds of times and have never seen anyone go in or out of the igloo.

Attempt to hide from the heat of almost 100 in TX yesterday, I decided to ride the Northshore of Grapevine Lake which is mostly shaded. Really needed some suspension and my body is paying the price today

This looks exactly like a spot in southeastern Utah, on Hwy 95. It is a super fun, fast descent if you're going west. I've ridden it a few times during a long relay race. Your pic makes me want to go down and ride some of those roads again.

I bet Utah has a ton of epic cycling. I took that pic from the car on my way back home from Powder Mountain last season - lovely view but I wouldn't ride a bicycle on that part of the highway

Yes, more than a guy can ever do, unless he makes it his full time vocation!
Many people don't realize the diversity of terrain we have. There certainly are millions of acres of dull, high desert dreariness, but there are also alpine canyons, green valleys, rocky mountains, sandstone towers and walls, and world class skiing (as you apparently know)... pretty much something for everyone.

Not anymore. I was all about MTB in the '90s, when I was in my 20s. Lots of trips to Moab (only a five hour drive, even in a tired old Subaru loaded down with my buddies and our gear). Also lots of evening jaunts to trails up the canyons east of Salt Lake. Somewhere along the way I just lost interest, or got distracted with trying to be an adult. Then I did motorcycles for a while, and 4x4 trucks. Now I've come back around to human-powered outdoor rec, but this time on road bikes.

New state park in Gloucester County Va. Machicomoco State Park. It has a plus 3 mile loop with a partial walking path all around. Ride a bike in at not fee. It’s a good 16 miles from my house so a nice ride. Has a nice interpretative area with an old farm house and area for the Algonquin Indian history. The bottom is a time line the other side of the oyster shell cube.

This is from last January. Early morning on my steel roadbike. I was not allowed to post photos until recently so could not post it when I took it.
I was deleting photos from my phone today and this came up for deletion. I thought it is still worth posting.
