Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If it makes you feel any better, my FTP is around 185. Sad.

A few years ago he did the B to VT ride (starts at Harpoon in Boston, ends at their other Brewery in VT) which is about 150 miles with 8k of climbing at a 26 average pace.

He’s a former pro, was on the Armenian national team at one point as well.

It doesn’t bother me- I’m perfectly happy being fat and slow

Genetics always win out. When you have racers that weigh less than datlas, and easily double his ftp, that stuff can't be "trained into".

No way. People definitely need two hours of exercise a day.

How big of a cut? Stan's seems to work pretty poorly at road pressure, but I thought that MTB was easy peasy. Maybe you need one of their new plug kits or maybe you just need more sparkle in your life.

Fine print says body weight is "non-transferable" kinda like frequent flier miles.

Agree. This guy is gifted, so he probably has couch fitness that could whoop most of our collective butt.

No clue, I was considering taking my bike to work to hit the trails afterwards but went into the garage last night, saw it was totally flat, and said "future abshipp can deal with that crap"

I've never heard of any complaints with Stans at MTB pressures, either.
