Painting stainless steel bike rack

I want to buy this rack (steel version) but its only available in silver and I would like to have it black. Do you think this could be painted easily?

Applying paint is easy. Getting it to stick, especially on a high-use part like a rack, is hard. If I were going to paint that (btw, I wouldn't), I'd wet-sand it with fine-grit sandpaper, prime it, and then paint it. Possibly with spray.bike. Or find a powdercoating service to do it for me.

On their website it definitely looks like the rack comes in black too... but is unavailable for order.
Maybe contact them and ask when they’ll be back in stock?

Racks tend to have places get rubbed bare regardless or the coating. I'd be inclined to get it powder coated if you must do something, but personally I'd live with a color that I could find in stock..
