I have bought several really cheap luggage scales, shipped from asia that I bought on Ebay. They always read about the same or a hair less than the scale at airline ticketing counters. Thus, accuracy has been within a percent or two in my experience.

Why not just use a bathroom scale. Stand on it holding bike. Stand on it without bike. Subtract.

That works too, but in my case since I have the luggage scales, I just leave one hanging from a hook in my basement ceiling for when I want to weigh something.

25 lbs as it sits here. But to be fair, this is not a true touring bike but rather a cycle cross bike that I adapted for touring. It performs quite well for how I use it, but I would not try crossing Asia nor Africa with it, rather opting for something more robust under those conditions.

That's how I did it for the weights I report. Conveniently, I am just under 200 lbs, so I put some stuff in my pockets to get a nice round number.

The error of the scale is probably ± 0.5 lb, so the error in my bike weight is probably ± 1 lb (less than the water in one bottle).
