Explain yourself! What does your username/avatar mean?
We spend a lot of time on the forum talking about bikes and swapping stories, photos, links, etc, but most of us are largely unfamiliar to one another, having never met in person and only participating in forum-based exchanges. I thought it would be interesting to start a thread where we explained our usernames/avatars, as well as if there's any joke or significance behind them.
I'll start-
My username is "Maddox" because...well, it's my last name, and a lot of friends use it to get my attention. I guess I'm not all that creative when it comes to usernames.
The avatar is a still capture from Bob Dylan's music video for "Subterranean Homesick Blues" - from the 1965 documentary "Don't Look Back" (link here for those interested)
...This is mostly because I think Bob Dylan is a pretty cool guy. I also most definitely have a thing for the larger 1960's folk/counter-culture movement. I think I'll blame my love for vintage steel on that -- being somewhat counter-cultural.
And I digress...But that is me. Anyone else care to contribute?

E is what people know me as, just E (too lazy to type and/or pronounce all 11 letters and 4 sylables of my first name, so I go by E; my first initial)

I really should change my user name. I have to look into that sometime. My Avatar is my 1930s rock cottage in the mountains of NC. I've done quite a bit of work restoring it over the last five years.

During one of the forum database crashes my original user name became not recoverable for reasons unknown to this day. It was finally suggested I just start a new account. so repechage was my giving it a second chance.

My Spanish name is Diego. In the early 1990's, when I was thinking of a unique username, I had thought that I'd like to study frogs. That didn't pan out. I still love them, though.

My favorite album growing up was the Smashing Pumpkins- Gish and with my name being Josh a buddy of mine put Jish together from it and it stuck. 1969 is because I have had the same cell number for almost 10 years now and its easy to remember. The avatar is Will Ferrel from Anchorman-need I say more on that?

Back when I went climbing every weekend, we stopped at a convenience store on the way. They had "norsk" car air fresheners, which struck us as funny because "norsk" was fun to say, and for the rest of the day we said it many times. Anyway, that evolved into my username. Avatar is just a cool vintage track image I came across, I like old track bikes!

I'll bite, the username is complex and came about over a few years.
Okay, the user name first, my name is Paul, my mother-in-law (we got along quite well) called my Paulywog, the Pauly part got dropped over time, but wog held on, I needed a name for something and made it Wogster. Trying to get a name for something else, Wogster wasn't available and it suggested Wogsterca, which was available, and I used it whenever wogster was not available.
The avatar is me at a bike ride...

My first name is Derrick. When I lived in Germany in the 87 - 89 timeframe there was a popular TV crime drama whose lead character was Kommissar Derrick so my friends called me Kommissar Derrick or just Kommissar. 89 because the plain version was already taken.

I'll start-
My username is "Maddox" because...well, it's my last name, and a lot of friends use it to get my attention.

Well, I was working at a bike shop in Virginia Beach (Kempsville Schwinn) back in 88 or so, and I was solely a roadie. My boss (probably the best shop boss I ever had) and some of the other employees were going for a mountain bike ride (all that was missing was mountains), and he invited me along. There were also a bunch of locals along. Not having a mountain bike of my own, he loaned me his old King Sting, which didn't quite fit me.
Anyway, we were out for a muddy, sandy, and wet ride, and I didn't take a berm quite right (again, my mountain biking skills were nil at the time) and ended up (a) falling into the giant puddle that the berm went around, and (b) absolutely, completely covered in mud. I mounted and rode on, and a couple of minutes later, when people stopped for a swig of water, the newbies were introducing themselves, when my boss piped in "this is my new mechanic, mudboy", which everyone got a huge chuckle out of. The name stuck.
