Full zip jerseys work so well it's a wonder they weren't standard sooner. For today's monthly C&V ride, I wore an old NorCal Forum jersey from 2008, with a half zip. It's not horrible, but it is less convenient. Plus the zipper is one of those sucky Voler ones. It was mild enough today that I could just leave it zipped up.

We had a nice ride despite the heat. Kept it short @45 miles and only a couple thousand feet of up. 12 of us rode over the hills to Beverly Hills for a snack, then some steep climbs back over. At the top of the canyon there is weird intersection and one guy started to go when he shouldn't have and another guy yelled "stop". He stopped and started yelling at the other guy. Nobody knew him so we didn't know what to expect.
This got ridiculous. The one guy said he was just trying to protect the new guy and the new guy said he yelled too loud or something. F-bombs were dropped and it got more heated and it went on and on. A couple of us asked them to stop, no dice. Finally I yelled "please" . Anyway we dropped the guy on the next climbs but he caught up later at a light, then went off on his own. The bad thing was we lost another guy who was hurting a bit. Also a new guy, we wondered if he knew his way back.
Never a dull moment.

Nope. I was 15 when Zep came out and it blew our minds. So much of their music is part of me, but not that song. Here is one I like.
Ten Years Gone (1990 Remaster) - YouTube
Ten Years Gone (1990 Remaster) - YouTube
back in the day - middle school / junior high years - one of my friends was a Zeppelin crazy / fanatic / nut
he was full of Zeppelin info - got us concert posters - 'boot leg' 8 track tapes etc
we repaid him by claiming BTO was a better band than Zeppelin - just to get him furious lol
sadly his life ended too early in a car accident
he is 3rd from the right in the picture *** (hat held over chest)

Some people don't like to be yelled at, man. Imagine that.

First for me today: I ****ed something up so bad on the boat, I had to cut a line with a ******g knife! Of course, I had a riding buddy out with me and was hoping to impress him with my skills.

Of the 11 other riders there, 5 were friends, 2 of those I've known for 30 years and 1 for about 20. Some of the others I know from riding with them and today there were 2 I had never seen before. 1 of those was the troublemaker and the other was the one we lost.
Very small turnout today, 10 or so regulars are up at Big Bear Lake to do an event ride and the heat kept people away, I'm sure.
It's a public club and the board is trying to recruit new members so sometimes you get undesirables.

Don't worry - if things went too smoothly, he wouldn't appreciate your skills. As long as you didn't tip your hand that you ****ed up, he'll be even more impressed with the dramatic save.
