Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Blue/orange. I have an orange bike with blue accents. Should work well other way around.

Some sweet looking bikes here.

Orange and blue is an odd paint scheme, but it works on my MTB:

There was a little streak of blue on the frame. I decided to emphasize it.

Yeah, post a picture of what you're starting with. Personally, I prefer black bar tape (doesn't show dirt), black seat and black tire tread, regardless of the color of the bike's frame. Practical, understated, leaves lots of choices of brand & model.

Black tape and saddle is practical. You can ride it, and it might get dirty, but the dirt won't show.

However, I keep thinking I might go with blue bar tape next time ... blue with a bit of a colourful fleck in it. Maybe.

oh wow thats a mighty fine lookin saddle...I'm always nervous to buy a saddle for aesthetic reasons but if i can find a lbs that carries that model im definitely going to see if i can demo it.

I may be able to dig out my car tomorrow and go pick up the bike but its looking more like i wont be able to do anything until saturday. once i get it ill post pics right away though

I actually switched out my Aliante for the Arione after experiencing an issue in an unmentionable location. The color didn't matter until I saw what they had in stock. The handlebar tape and tires soon followed. I like the look and no more problems down under.

I'd stick with the black stuff. If that's too blah for your tastes, start with new bar tape and see how you like it, before sinking lots of money into tires and a saddle. Bar tape is cheap.

Given that it's a medium blue, one color option would be a deep blue. Two-tone blue isn't too gaudy.

My scheme is quite simple; silver gruppo, wheels with carbon seatpost, fork and water cages:

Back in the 50´s-70´s the Monark riders were known as the "blue team" when competing the orange Crescent riders all over Sweden. Here´s my slightly upgraded -75 Monark.
