Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Main ride...2020 Canyon Endurace CF SL. Perfect mix of speed and comfort. My choice for 6+hour rides.

My light weight climbing bike...2013ish Canyon Ultimate cf slx. Not a total weight-weenie build, but the frame is the perfect starting point if I were to go that direction.

"Old school" bike...2001ish Cannondale CAAD5 w/all Dura Ace. It's almost kinda crazy, but it's actually lighter weight than the Endurace. The Endurace is a much better all around bike however.

I love my classic steel bikes, but .... this 2007 Specialized Tarmac Pro pretty much fell into my lap for next to nothing. At 56cm, it's bigger than I could ever ride with a conventional steel frame. But after installing 38cm compact bars and a 90mm stem, I actually love the fit. Fantastic bike and now my main rider. Full Dura-Ace 7800, other than the 2011ish Ultegra crank - that will get changed to a correct Dura-Ace in 165mm.

Just picked this up and put a little over 50 miles for no. It's not a daily as the 54x46 in the front and 14x22 in the rear makes it a get out when I feel like a hero.

Beautiful vintage bicycles. I like how you park them at an 45 degree angle in the garage

For 2023 this is where I am at

Climbing Bike 2023 Specialized Aethos Fact 10r Frameset built up with SRAM AXS Rival, Force D2, and Red, with the finishing kit pieces being all Prime Primavera Carbon parts, left sided crank power meter, and the wheels being Elite Wheels Drive D50

Aero Bike 2022 Scott Foil RC 20 which has been totally rehauled with mostly Force D2 and Red with the only original part being the Rival front derailleur which is being swapped out sometime soon. Prime Primavera Saddle, Winspace 2023 Hyper D45 wheels, and Assioma Duo Shi power meter pedals.

Did some saddle upgrades for both bikes. Scott Foil RC w/ Specialized SWORKS Romin Evo Mirror w/ 3D printed varia mount and Aethos got a Berk Composites Lupina Short Padded and I changed the wheels to 9Velo LV35 2.0

I assume the rules for bike presentation in this thread are lax . It's just a quick photo from my morning commute. The new Madone is a lot of fun.

Got it for 80 € - w/o wheels, RD and no chain. Had a set of tubulars from another bike, RD harvested from a commuter. Gearing is a bit tall, but that's what they had back then ( i think this one's from the late 80' early 90'). I really like the colour-scheme. I have changed the bar tape to silver now, but looking at this, i feel the black was a better fit.

Another Pegoretti. A Duende in Mezzatazza paint. I already posted this. Just added the black bottle cages and bottles.

I walked away from cycling and then found this gem, in my favorite color, plus, it is solid red. There's a lot of parts coming, so, will repost once it is transformed to my liking.

Fuji Roubaix. First new bike purchase in 2014. Has spent most of the last few years on the trainer or storage. Eventually may get things fixed back up to ride outside.

Diamondback Century 6c with many upgrades. Good everyday bike and longer rides.

Ridley Helium SLX Disc custom build at 14.02 lbs. Built October 2023. Super fun bike to ride and obviously performs the best going upwards.

Great bikes, FujiQG7. Since I’m an endurance road bike guy I love the Diamondback Century. Do you have a pic of the Fuji Roubaix?

Cheers,

Scott

bike 1 is Scott Addict 10 (2022). i love and find interesting that scott addict (their endurance line) have clearance for up to 38-40c tires, and even fender mounts. it currently has 32c tires on it and set up for commuting (which I did when I was in Seattle last year). The 12s electronic sram rival has a huge cassette in the back 10-36 that helped me tackle those steep Seattle hills and fenders helped with the Seattle rains.

I love this bike because its so versatile. I'm contemplating putting some 40c gravel tires on it or now that I'm back in CT, I might sell this bike since I'm not commuting to work anymore also because I just got this....

2023 Specialized Aethos S-works, sram red, enve cockpit/wheels.

Both super sick bikes. Any downsides to the aethos as a ultra lightweight bike? (Like concerns around durability etc)...
