Really warm for this time of year (mid 80's) and the humidity is high as well. Did a nice 30 mile ride this morning hoping to get in some speed training thrown in but the winds put a stop to that as I was finishing my first lap. Second lap wasn't all that terrible, but I sure wish the winds were like the first lap.

Took a rather chilly afternoon ride, it was 48°F with strong gusty NW winds to keep things interesting. 15.13 miles, hill intervals in to the wind.

Rather chilly start this morning (63º) after a nice high of 84º yesterday. 35 very windy miles that, along with an overactive sinus problem, really took it out of me today.

Took a very chilly morning ride yesterday, 10:00 AM, it was 41°F when I started but warmed up to 46°F by the time I finished, very quick warm up that was welcomed. The usual 15 mile route with some sprints thrown in against a stiff North wind. Good way to start Christmas Eve.

After our Christmas lunch with our mothers and assorted family and cleaning up the kitchen it was time for a ride. Variations on the 15 mile route to break up the monotony a little, temps are still coolish for our area, felt pretty good to me. Hope everyone had had a Merry Christmas.

A whole 4 blocks. I hit a large patch of ice 2 blocks from the house, I kept it upright but had no directional control. I just pointed it the direction it was sliding until I hit clear pavement, turned it around and headed for the barn. It didn't scare me though, I just know my limits and I draw the line at not being able to control my direction of travel. Temps are supposed to be near freezing with plenty of sun the next couple days and then 37 on Saturday so the streets should clear up. Cold and snow don't bother me, ice is another story and there is no bike budget left this year for studs or chains. I already have plans to build a dedicated ice bike out of my current beater for next Winter though.

A bit over 50 miles in Montgomery and Frederick Counties in MD. It was supposed to get up to 35 degrees, but if it did you couldn't tell by me. It was about 20 when I started, and never got up above 27 or 28. Instead of heavy gloves I used summer gloves with glove liners, underneath a set of Barr Mitts. I like how warm I was, but didn't like the limitation on hand positions. At least the wind was light, and the sun was shining. Didn't see any other riders out which is kind of surprising since I was on some very popular bike roads. In the spring or summer I would have wrist sprain from doing the wave at everybody on bikes.

Got a flat at about 40 miles. Sat in the sun and changed it out. I think I'm officially skipping the CO2. I pumped the tire up with just my little Lezyne hand pump, and it was fine. I'd rather just carry an extra tube...

18 km yesterday and 30 km today. Tomorrow probably nothing as we go to the gym for TRX and Saturday for spin class, so hopefully Sunday for a few hours. Temp was around 3-5 C (36-37F, that is the scale I first learned, including lbs - not local bike shop - and inches...)

Woke up to some gloomy looking weather this morning but it turned into a perfect day after the sun came out. Got in a really nice 35 mile ride with some sprints and intervals thrown in. Looking to do one more metric century before the end of the year. Riding with my buddy Frank tomorrow and Sunday, so it'll be one of those two days.

19 total miles out and back from my house with 1750' of climbing. It was at least mid-60's. Started off with a very light base layer, but it had to go. I'm afraid I used a bunch of afternoon chores as an excuse to bail out at a false summit some 800 vertical feet from the top. I won't fall short again, but I've got to say that the push to the real top is brutal.

A windy 45 mile group ride today. Had some younger riders from up north join us and complained that there was no coasting due to lack of hills. First 22 mile section 22.4mph average, next 11 mile section 23.2mph average and final 12 mile section 24.4mph average. Had my new Christmas Lumberjack Ironman jersey on so that must have given this older guy some extra mph for the leadouts cause I got them to 29.4 and 29.5 before I pulled off. Extra 12 miles to and from the ride.

With all the visitors, this is the first day I've been able to do anything on a bike since Monday. Did 52 minutes on the trainer. Glad I got that in since the rest of the day is shot, cycling wise. Tomorrow will be the same.

Yay! Finally a break in the deep-freeze weather! I got in a few miles of errand-riding, after several weeks of rain-outs, snow-ins, and freeze-ups! I went all out with my pedaling, to try and burn off some of that accumulated energy stores, and I expect to pay for it tomorrow, but it was worth it!
