Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Set up a removable front basket system using a front pannier rack and a click on system that is meant for the rear of the bike (MIK) and a Basil basket. It took a stupid amount of research to make it happen and I'm damn proud of the outcome.

It was time for new tires and I went with the Continental GP5Ks with the tan/cream sidewalls. I like skin-walls and gum-walls on older bikes and this little retro touch gives the bike a little pop.

Made the $1/gram cut by shaving 35 grams against the older pump (that was getting a bit hinky with the hose). Nice and tiny nestled in its cage mount bracket, but I hope to never have to use it

We’ve got a month long, family trip starting in July coming up. We’re driving cross country and back, with our bikes in tow. I decided to get a Feedback Sports Omnium portable trainer w/progressive resistance. Just something to have for those days I can’t ride on the road.

I just picked one up too as a backup to my Co2 system. I've actually been re looking the tools I am carrying and wanted two things...The first that the tools were actually usable. In other words, I didn't want some multi-tool that could have problems accessing a bolt or problems getting a grip on. The second was everything needed to be compact and fit in the back of my jersey pocket (I dislike saddle bags). Finding a tool that was really usable took a little research, but I found this ratchet with extension and all the bits made by Prestacycle. The ratchet mechanism is rated to 60Nm which means you can take off a pedal if needed. It also has a calibrated torque mechanism on the end which can be used for tightening anything from 2-10Nm. Everything fits in the neoprene sunglass case at the top.

New shoes for the Felt.

Picked up these lightly used cl50 wheels locally as my rear zipp 30 alloy with Felt brand hub was on its last legs . Regreased the internals on these, centerlock rotors i had socked into the parts bin last year for a rainy day (oem setup was 6 bolt) and the Conti clinchers just showed up today from westernbikeworks. Tomorrow morning i'll deal with the rotor rub and take it for a tester.

Just received a 50/34 silver FSA 110 BCD set of chainrings I bought on EBay. Silver FSA chainrings for that BCD size are hard to find. The set is a takeoff and never used.
