Craigslist and Cannondale

I've been watching Craigslist postings for the past couple of weeks and have noticed that there are very few Cannondale's being listed. There are not a lot of Treks going up for sale, but there are some. I didn't count, but I would guess that the Treks being listed outnumber the Cannondale's by about ten to one.

Pandemic shortages aside, what would explain the discrepancy?

Far fewer Cannondales are sold, so there are fewer of them that come up for sale on the used market.

That would certainly explain it. I did not know that Trek sales were that much greater than Cannondale. Thanks!

What type of bike are you looking for? Mountain, road, BMX, touring?

I have a Trek 7300 which I like. I was considering something similar. The Cannondale Quick is looking good, so I was looking to see what was available used. So far I haven't seen any!

This is a rather odd post! Craigslist showdown Cannondale V. Trek? Probably more Schwinns, Huffys, Magnas and other similar BSOs. Honestly though aside from maybe a vintage Cannondale Track or any early US made steel Trek with really high end components those two brands don't do a whole lot for me.

I do like that bike. Holland is quite a drive, but not out of the question. Thank you for sharing.

Noo, nothing odd. No mention of any sort of contest between brands, etc,.

It was a simple observation where Craigslist postings showed a significant difference between the number of Treks for sale compared to Cannondales. Jeff Neese kindly pointed out that the sale of new bikes greatly favored Trek over Cannondale, thus the discrepancy.
