Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Another note on Texas climate, or generally speaking southern winters that just bounce all over the damn place: I posted that picture of 4 inches of snow Saturday morning and now on Wednesday it's 77 degrees American outside. A cold front is blowing in tonight to make highs of about 50 for the next few days. Maybe.

The contract is a mere formality and I have no means of recourse other than being unpleasant. The Sad(!) thing about the situation is we need each other for things like coverage. I don't understand people who put dumb stuff above relationships with real humans.

He's a professor, power plant engineering consultant, and textbook author, in about that order.

Some people just don't want to quit. The owner of the company I work for built the whole thing from the ground up and could retire comfortably at any minute, but has kept at it with the threat to retire for the last 3 or 4 years. Also, my FIL has all the reason in the world to kick off and enjoy his final years, but he is a physics professor who also does semiconductor research and he likes keeping busy. I fully expect him to officially retire when his official retirement number comes up, but I kind of wonder.

Depends. They are not the same. Better to see a real doctor rather than a noctor.

I have a Trek that size, that color, and with that decal pattern. Mine is a 80 414. What's yours?

1981 710 frame. DB Reynolds 531 throughout.

I bought it as specified in the '81 catalog as a 716: 700c wheels and complete Shimano 600EX "Arabesque" group.

Given all of the changes I've made like the 650b wheels and high offset aftermarket fork, I can't really call it a 716 anymore.

AG-dad is trying to stave that number off as long as he can, so the wondering is not for nothing.

No one asks me.

In the year since I moved to this group, I've had a appointments with the witch doctor and a PA mysteriously cancelled.

I started Remicade in November. Today was supposed to be my third infusion. For the second time (of three) they call to tell me they can't do it as scheduled because the nurse is not there. This time I get the message less than an hour before the treatment.

I tried calling the scheduler three times this afternoon and it just went to the machine.

it’s becoming a real black magic managing to see a doctor. I switched practices twice within the last 4 years just trying to get away from the noctors before finally giving up... It would be Sad if it wasn’t truly tragic.

If I flip a coin three times and it's a heads each time, what are the odds it will be a heads the fourth time?
