It's nice and relatively recent. He said the LBS works with a crabon repair facility and are quoting $600 to repair, which seems kinda steep but he said it's a $2500 frame so prolly still worth fixing.
I was going to suggest he stop riding plastic frames and hoops, but I think it's too soon.

As is common knowledge, there is much misinformation these days. This used to be known as lying and was employed to get out of trouble until it was upgraded to misinformation which currently is employed to get others in trouble.
At first there was a humorous side to misinformation such as the claim that putting raw onions in your socks at night would prevent the flu. Then it dawned on certain types, the types that like manipulation and getting others in trouble, that if you could actually get people to put raw onions in their socks you could get a substantial number of people to believe anything and the rest is history.
The sad part of all this is that, on the one hand, a distrust of homeopathic remedies has come about, regardless of merit, and on the other, many tried and true remedies have fallen into disuse and even ridicule. For example, as a Hispanic man, my mom and her mom before her, cooked with garlic just about every day and I can attest that no one in my family has ever been bitten by a vampire. This is an unbroken record for generations into the dim past and thus, solid evidence.
I hope these few comments will cause everyone to pause and reevaluate some of the"information" floating around today. And by the way, I'm considering changing my user name to "Deep Thinker".

Must be from listening to Nirvana? Bonus post 1990 release date.
In other news, I'm working again today for day #7 of the week. What hurts is this will preclude me from getting in a ride.

I could feel sorry for myself but at least im not the dude who got taken down by one rock. I already know that feeling having to buy a replacement frame AND waiting 4 months for it. That's not a good feeling. @Velo Vol notice the apostrophe usage.

A walk in the park. That was a $50.00 fix on my sled. Has it been steel, the frame would be thrown away.

So it bounced off of his wheel and then in to his stay, cracking both? Man, datlas on the grassy knoll with the magic rock.
We were traveling at speed, I don't use a speedometer but would guess 25-30MPH and the rock was decent sized.

Rear wheels seem to always fail first because of the heavier weight and torque from drivetrain.

I had some nice wheels with Mavic Reflex rims do that - the rear, OF COURSE! I use the rear hub for a chain keeper when washing my bikes, and the front wheel is in the shed somewhere, with other wheels that have fallen out of favor.

This one is Araya CTL 370. The silver lining is that I have a free rim of the correct size, and will tape the two together and move the spokes over one at a time. A method I've read about but not yet tried. It's not been my experience to have two rims of exactly the same diameter to do it with. I've had this extra rim for prolly 8 or so years. Velox. Made in Mexico, so they say. Vamos a ver.
