1974 Campania Professional frame/fork 57cm

SOLD

I’ve ridden this pretty frame for a couple of years and tinkered, but I am coming to terms with the top tube being too long for me.

I think, but have not been able to fully substantiate, that it was made by Fuji and is about the same level as the Finest.

Specs:
- Double butted cromoly, fully chromed under the paint
- 57cm CTC seat tube, 59cm CTC top tube
- Weight of f/f with headset and Phil Wood bottom bracket 6.8 lbs. (Headset included, bottom bracket not included.)
- English threaded fork and BB
- 100mm spacing front, 123mm spacing rear (meant for 120mm or 126mm wheel - I used 126)
- 27.0mm seat post

Asking $60, for now only local pickup in SF Bay Area.

(Cross posted elsewhere for more — this is the BF price…)

Wow, thankfully the TT is too long for me too, great deal on an interesting frame.

That is really neat! A lot like the Fuji Finest as you mention, looks and all - same Chainstay crimps, same chrome accents. Except the early 70s Finest generally had short top tubes for the seat tubes from what I understand, so maybe like it's evil twin. Someone out there in the Bay Area needs a French fit!

Yeah, it's a fun frame, very springy and light. If I were a couple of inches taller, I think I would end up keeping it. It's been an easy canvas to mess around with.

In its latest iteration, I fit 35mm Gravelkings with 45mm SKS fenders, so it's got a lot of clearance, even with 700c.

And when will you ever find anything with "Van Nuys" machined into the headset tooling if not this, and now?
If I needed another (fun) project, and was not deterred by the too-long TT (too long for me, too) I'd be all over this, but cannot swing it.
So GLWS!

The headset is one reason I still have the frame and really wanted it to work! Here is the rest of the rotating newsfeed:

I received an inquiry about chainstay length, and I measure 44.5cm from the middle of the dropout to the middle of the bottom bracket. Pics below show how I measured:

Straight bar?

Have you thought of converting it to a straight bar speedster to shorten your reach a bit but still get the benefits of the spryness and gearing?

I did, but I liked it better as a drop bar bike. But, then, the reach… It just didn’t really suit me as a townie with VO Milan bars, and now I am itching to tinker with the other bikes in the stable that I know are better fits. It’s just time to move it along; someone else will love this frame.

I love that style of frame, looks like a great all-rounder. I have an Atala Record that looks a lot like it (the angles, lots of chrome), and my first thought was that it was one of the mass-produced Italian frames from that era.
