Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 Chrome
Rare appearance on here, I rarely find bikes anymore (All kinds of other things though)
Nice find from the other day. It's a 23 Inch so it's to big for me by about a half inch. I can ride it though.
All the bikes I have had over the years I have never found a single chrome frame bike.
This bike is really clean. Clear coat is not flaking, nor damaged. The Schwinn logo is gone.
Bottle cage put on over two strips of electrical tape and that left a faint outline in the clear coat?
Not sure. I may be able to clean it off some more.
Rides, and shifts great.
Tires, Tubes, and somebody will have to replace the brake hoods. (I can do it, just lazy)
Should slap some tires and tubes on today.
Neat.

Very Nice!! It should be easy to sell with the condition being so clean. With new or good tires it will sell . As far as a price , here in Southern California it would be north of $200 in that condition. Chrome bikes are way cool and not very common looking like that. Good score , too bad it aint the right size . I would be tempted to keep it.

I was thinking over $300.....
Just put some Kenda's, and new tubes on. (Kenda's will do, and were all I could put my hands on now)
Yeah, it would be nice to look at. I do not find vintage road bikes comfortable.
I have been looking at modern touring/cyclocross bikes. $$$$'s
Couldn't turn this one down though.

Ugh, I'm being haunted by chrome Schwinns....
I bought one just like yours in early febuary, except it'd been outside for decades and completely rusted together. Still trying to get seatpost/stem loose.
I guess this reminder means I have to work on it a bit today.

I've seen pretty high asking prices for those bikes on CL and that one looks like it's in pretty nice shape. I'd list it for $650 and see what happens. It only takes one old guy who really wants it.

Heck bad fixie, chrome bikes are going at almost $300.
Serviced only $300 would be a quick sale, $600 with new tires and completely polished I think is not unreasonable for a selective enthusiastic buyer.

There are two of these (same seller/ad) on Portland CL right now. Asking is $500 each.

Sold $380. Had it a $450 for over two months on DC, and Balto CL's top posting everyday. I had four inquiries total.

I paid 300.00 for mine 2 years ago. I thought I overpaid a bit but got the guy to go 300.00 instead of 325.00.
I don't see many of these on Chicago CL and when I do they routinely are posted at 500.00 and up.
So I now think the 300.00 I spent was reasonable.
