Looking for bike shorts.
I have some fairly old bike shorts that I really like, but can't seem to find anywhere.
I want some shorts with a chamois only, no padding or shaped pads. I ride a recumbent, so I don't need any of that, and it is actually much worse to try to ride with shorts that have the shaped padding (which I'm sure work great on a normal saddle).
Anyone know a manufacturer that carries shorts with just the chamois in the crotch?
BTW, I have 4 pair of shorts with padding. 2 have been tried on, but not even worn for a ride if anyone wants them.

Try Aerotech Designs Pro shorts. https://www.aerotechdesigns.com/mens...ike-short.html They are padded but only minimally, more anti-chafe than padding. They are all I wear now..

Unless you have some leakage, why would you want something bulking up your shorts on a 'bent? Just seems odd Edit- that Aerotech recumbent stuff looks right. Un-padded.

very fond of my thin lined (not "padded") Zoot trishorts. I get the longest they make, they are 8" I also size them up for comfort. when I buy jeans I get 38" waist but for these I get XXL
price has come down a lot! but only see XL on Amazon right now Zoot Sports Men's Performance Tri 8-Inch Short
I see they now have 9" units & I would get those now if I could find them in XXL Zoot Ultra Mens 9-Inch Tri Shorts - Performance Triathlon Shorts Carbon Fabric Hip Holster Pockets

Seriously look at aerotech's website. They show pictures of the pad. Just thick enough to absorb the sweat and protect from chafing. They are not the bloated diaper pad of other modern shorts. I`ve ridden a bent and yes you don't want any padding, but I personally couldn't pedal anything without a little extra covering the boys besides lycra. Y'all have the rights to your own opinion.

I have the aerotech designs shorts with no padding for riding my Velomobile. I don’t need any padding and they are so comfortable. I would definitely buy them again and perhaps even other products they have. If I would be looking for another pair of padded shorts for riding my DF bikes I will be looking at aerotech designs for them as well.

I'm guessing aerotech is good for the bents but.....
I myself bought shorts from them maybe 10 years ago. Loved them but 2 years back, I bought another 3 pair of their best cycling shorts, best chamois. I don't know if they were cutting back on the chamois/padding but it seemed the pad stopped right at the point my testicles sat on the saddle. OWWWEEEEE!!!
Strange cut so I vowed to never go back. Never had a problem with many others hurting my nutty buddies on the saddle. Trico/Pearl Izumi/Nike/Cannondale/ Performance/Falconi and a few others that don't come to mind this second........ Bye bye aerotech.
I would like to think that it was just my lil buddies getting bigger but it wasn't!

Um... In cycling shorts chamois is padding. So, it is not entirely clear what you mean by "I want chamois only, no padding". I won't argue if you say that the original meaning of "chamois" is different, but still in today's everyday cycling lingo chamois is padding.

For a small upcharge (20-25% IIRC) they'll do custom sizes.
I also bought and discarded a pair of the Aerotech shorts, which had thin but squishy padding with seams in odd places.

BITD, I bought chamois at the auto parts store, & sewed it into my shorts.
Worked well, I think partly because air could blow up the (non-lycra) legs & keep things dry,
& no foam sponge to hold the sweat.

So I emailed Aerotech, and they don't make anything like what I'm looking for. Their thinnest padding is still 'formed'. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for recumbents. I might get one pair to see how they compare, but for 1/3 the price, I can just get some unpadded compression shorts from target.

I was just interested in an extra 1" of rise which he could do.
I'm 5'9" with a 30" pants inseam, fall between XXXS and XS on jersey size charts, and newer Louis Garneau jerseys with an inch shorter front paired with Boure shorts with less rise than others expose a sliver of belly if I move around a bit.

I sometimes wear Champion Duo Dry shorts, which have the inner liner but no padding. I'm pretty sure I bought them at Target for less than $20. They're great! Similar to the OP I'm also am not a fan of padded cycling shorts.

Last time I was at Target, they said the "Champion" line was being discontinued. The only good news is I got several inexpensive compression shirts on a really good sale. :/
