Addiction 2022.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I tried a citrus degreaser once. Smelled ******g horrible, gave me a migraine, and didn't seem terribly effective in this application - maybe it was just the brand/type that I used, though. I've only used mineral spirits and DNA, since. FWIW, on the MSW chain prep instructions, they do mention both citrus degreaser and acetone as alternatives - https://moltenspeedwax.com/pages/clean-your-chain

I do Wordle, I don't do Neil Young. I saw CSN&Y in the olden days, and about fell asleep. Beach Boys opened for them, and they were far superior.

Wordle 220 4/6

⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜
⬜🟨⬜🟩⬜
⬜🟩🟨🟩⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

I made a stupid error on one of my guesses. Might have finally broken the 4 barrier.

Same. I sometimes look at what I did and wonder what I was thinking. A "good" letter in the same spot that I knew was wrong type thing. Silly.

I think I’m a strong word guy too, I just don’t want to develop a new addiction, time is slipping away fast enough already. Mrs BD pummels the NYT crosswords.

The two CSN&Y songs I have in my library I really like. The rest of that entire folk rock genre they can keep.

I like the BB a little better, except for those sickening car songs.

Every year at prep school we had to sing a couple of songs for parents weekend. One year one was Sloop John B. by the BB. My Pavlovian response is to immediately change the station if it hear it on the radio. I hated it then and hate it to this day.

"The poor cook he caught the fits
And threw away all my grits
And then he took and he ate up all of my corn"

WTH. When does something like that ever happen? I could see if the cook punched him in his tits and stole his porn. But c'mon. Tossing grits and eating corn?

Given what the Beach Boys have become, I can't listen to them. If they came on the car radio while I was driving, I would probably pull over and set fire to the vehicle.

Realize this is an old folk Caribbean song, so don't blame the Beach Boys for those lyrics.

Plus, you can say tits?!?

Mrs John is the Queen of words to me. She plays Words With Friends online, It's similar to Scrabble. There used to be a Soul Food restaurant near here where if you beat the owner at Scrabble you could get a free dinner. We ate there but Mrs J never got to play her, she was rumored to be pretty good.

Full disclosure, I do love California Girls, so much so I assigned it as Mrs BD’s ringtone.

Again, it’s the car songs that make me wanna throw up. Lol
