Late 80s Trek 830:
All original minus the seat, grips, and tires/tubes. Too small for me so it’s going up for sale locally…

Cool find today. Amazing condition though I'm not sure what model Univega this is. No badges and I haven't had any luck deciphering the serial number (DS50615484). Nice set of Ukai wheels and the chrome is super clean. Really fun ride!

Craig's find Today: 1987 Schwinn High Sierra, Original Owner - Black Chrome Frame came with the original owners manual.
This one is for my Bride to ride, but it will need a good cleaning.

92 Rockhopper
I think I'm actually done with this one. These bars feel so much better than the stock straight ones. Only original parts are the headset, stem and seat post binder.

Bikes are pretty neat
What a sweet collection of vintage mtb's to be riding alongside. I split time between a restored '92 Trek 7000 and resto-modded '84 Trek 830 and love to see others out enjoying similar rigs. Thanks for sharing theblackbullet!

Nice. December 1984. But it looks exactly like the 1983 High Sierra fork for sure; the 1984 High Sierra is the bi-plane one. I guess the Sierra forks did not follow suit, or maybe that is a bi-plane fork and I cannot see it clearly from the image. After 1984 they switched to unicrown forks which is when I completely lose interest in them.

Looks like a sort of false bi-plane. You can see an upper and lower horizontal section, but it appears solid in between.
And 12/1984 would be a 1985 model.

It looks like Sierra and High Sierra used the same solid fork in '83. In '84 High Sierra switched to a bi-plane fork, and then unicrown thereafter. While Sierra kept the same '83 style fork to '85 if G1284 is the 1985 model. Akisu forks.

WV is not flat..
Came across an early Fisher Montare today. 1986 as far as I can tell. I thought someone had changed a few things around by the mixed up group of parts, but the catalog shows it to be all original. First thing that threw up a flag was the Light Action RD. I thought these had the Deerhead group, but for this one it is only the FD that is a Deerhead. Going to be a fun rebuild.

Been a while since I finished a build! The more interesting bits of info:
Brand/model: 1995 Novara Pro Ultimate
Size/material: 15" Tange Ultimate Ultralight
Headset: SolidBikes roller bearing 1-1/8" threadless headset
Fork: Carver 1-1/8" threadless, 410 fork crown length (replacement for original front suspension in disrepair)
Front Derailleur: Suntour Cyclone 7000
Saddle: Novara brand, titanium rails
Everything else is pretty standard for the era. Deore LX hubs/cranks, MAVIC SUP 217 rims, Deore XT RD, Zoom stem/bar ends.
Juuuuuust put the last bits on it tonight after weeks of having to wait. I've only had 5 minutes on it so far so I can't comment on how it rides. Very excited to get the finishing touches on it and take it on some dirt roads! I'm also hoping to use it for some bikepacking. Haven't weighed it yet, but the bike is feeling light Especially compared to the old 1988 Miyata Valley Runner it replaced, complete with bullmoose bars. Of course, I wish it had been a 17" frame, but after finding out the tubing I couldn't pass it up. The huge stack of spacers and the classic 90s looooooong top tube geometry makes for a pretty good fit.

Ah, July 23rd, 2022. I bought my Stumpjumper 40 years ago today.
