Vintage Schwinn Road Champion
Hello there,
My husband has a Schwinn bike we are trying to identify. I have several pics I can upload to help identify it. It is a really tall bike measuring 66 in from wheel to wheel, from seat to floor 43in, 25.5in from center bar to wheel crank and it has 27 in rims. Thank you!

Very tall bike. I agree that it's a continental. Solid reliable bike with comfortable handlebars. And the tool bag is pretty cool.

Thank you Kdogbikes and wrk101. We had no idea what kind of bike it is. So, its a continental and do either of you know the value? We are trying to sell it and have no idea what to ask. And how we can find out the year.

I would sell one for $50.
I would buy one for $10.

For the serial number, look at the bottom of the head tube just above the lower bearing cup. Post the number here and we can tell you the year.

Thank you all for your responses. My husband thought he had a diamond in the rough but turns out its just rough! He paid $50 for it so hopefully he can get his money back. If not it's a lesson learned. Leave the collecting to the real collectors! I appreciate each one of you for your time! Many thanks!!! He is so in denial... Poor dear!! Hahaha
The serial number is DT801548

That is a 28" frame Continental, which was produced only in '82 and '83. What is the small 4-digit number stamped in the headbadge? That will identify the day the bike was built.
Note that the 28" frame Continentals had hand-built fillet-brazed frames, which (besides the huge size) makes them somewhat unique. Here is a pic of a 28" Continental frame with the paint removed where you can clearly see the brass fillets:
