Six13 matte silver medallions needed a titanium stem to complete the look.

First Venture into the Dale of Cannon

I received this 2.8 frameset from @jdawginsc, who was a pleasure to deal with as always. After a little cleanup, I promptly swapped over my Campagnolo Veloce/Racing T group and Fulcrum Racing 6 wheels from the Miyata. Seatpost, stem, and bars are Ritchey Classic. Weight as built is 19.5 lbs. Super excited to hit the road this coming season. Initial test ride showed much promise.

That looks sleek! Glad you got it!

It really was in pretty nice shape. I would have kept it if I didn’t have Cresty Cannondale.

I'm not normally fond of threadless stems on vintage bikes, but that looks right on your Cannondale. Nicely done.

Thanks, guys. I suppose the fat tubes do make a threadless stem stick out less. The Ritchey Classic stuff has a nice smooth anodizing that goes well with the Campy parts.

I love the color on this frame, too.

This one is in progress, but I am in love with these old cannondales! Currently awaiting a seatpost, the one in the pic is a little too small (was from another build). I'm currently setting this up as my training bike with a 105 2x10 drivetrain.

Really loving my 1999 25" T1000 25" in Chromalusion Jade that I picked up a few years ago. I'm a newbie so I guess I can't post photos until I've made 10 posts. But I'll come back here and add a photo of the beauty when I'm able.

I decided to go all in and put a full Ultegra group on my R800, and I think it looks pretty sweet with the new(ish) Prologo saddle. Ignore the stem atrocity and the angle of the bars, I'm awaiting my new J&L quill stem to complete this one (I also need to remove 4 links from the chain, but it's getting there).

Not sure if I'd ever posted this bike that I acquired basically NOS back in 2017. My first really "nice" bike was an R4000 with the chromo rootbeer color, but that one went west a long time ago. I missed it and searched for CDale R4000s off and on for years and stumbled on this one on EBay with zero bidders over a holiday weekend. The original tires even had the forming sprues on them.

How about a green bike?

Or a grayish one?

Or both!

Durace 9 speed was the highpoint of design for Shimano. The metal forming and finish work was beyond perfect, and unhidden by coatings and colors.

1988 sr500

Seems like it was barely ridden, besides a few marks on the paint nearly NOS

Horrible photography here due to a sunny day and poor placement. :-) I was able to get this on the W&OD this weekend for its maiden voyage, and I'm in love. Still some nit-picky gear adjustments are needed, but I am pleased with how this turned out. I pulled off the trainer wheels (shown in the second picture) and went with some tried and true Specialized that have a few miles on the w/ 25s and it rode really smooth. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised! The J&L Vintage/Classic stem for modern 31.8 bars works well, and looks the part imho. I am a little annoyed with the fact that there's some tooling marks on the stem, but other than that, it seems to be a great solution, and much cheaper that the VeloOrange, plus I think it looks a bit more 80s 90s. Here it is, aptly dubbed "The Purple Whale". Oh, and make no mistake, the red bottle cage is going, but it was the only one I could seem to get my hands on prepping for the ride!

I think it would look really cool with red tape, cables and bottle cage.

Hmmm... I do have another red (plus I could use those red skewers from the Shimano wheels) this is an interesting thought. Maybe when it's time to change out the bar tape again. BTW, this bar tape from amazon is amazing (MARQUE Suede Bike Handlebar Tape)! It is really stretchy, and feels great.

Bikes: Wow, where to start? A collection of 1980's and early 90's road, touring, and MTBs from the likes of Trek, Schwinn, Cannondale, Fuji, Miyata, Univega, Panasonic, and GT. It has gotten rather out of control.

Well, I finally snagged a 1988 Black Lightning. All original and in good condition, but needs a cleanup.
