Nicely done! I admire those vintage touring bikes.
BTW, I really like your converted Hardrock. What brand of low rider/platform front rack is that? And where'd you get that black stem?

Thanks. Unfortunately I had to sell the the Specialized to fund some of the rebuild. The rack was a minoura i believe. It was a two piece that bolted together at the top. The black stem was the original that came on the Specialized. i think it was a '95 model. One of my next projects is to get one or two of your bags. They are beautiful.

I like vintage tourers, I own 3 of them. Very nice indeed.
I'm not sure about the tires and fenders though. The fenders are pretty but being a flat piace of wood they won't be as functional as a concave design.

Rivendell has the patent and sells them. www.rivbike.com. They are called speedblends and do just that when you ride. Kind of the blue and yellow make green theory.

It's a beautiful ride you've got there!

love the tires... i found a half-dozen of similar (700x27 - yes, 27) via Target's on-line site (target.com) a year or so ago, believe it or not... they're Panaracers (made in Japan) and have performed very well - $19 each!
nice job on the build, btw!

Vintage treks
Nice!
You might want to submit your photos and info to https://www.vintage-trek.com. Maybe send a quick email to Skip first to see if he'd be able to post the info because I don't think he's had time to post much recently.
I have a 1983 Trek 620 that is mostly still original except for a few nice upgrades. Officially 'vintage' this year (25 years old). Until this year, I was riding it regularly for touring and commuting. In many ways, I still prefer it over my new touring bike plus, it still looks almost new (when clean). Its original Imron paint has fewer chips than my 6-month old new bike! The vintage Trek touring bikes are soooo nice. Wish I'd had the bucks to buy the 720 in 1983!
