Canadian bikes

The oldest and best bike thread got me thinking - I never ride my Cyclops yet's I feel it's my best bike. So I dug it out of the back of the basement and did some maintenance on it and got it ready to ride.
Had to get a bunch of bikes out to do some basement cleaning and figured why not?

My Canadian bikes:

Steve Bauer and Velo Sport (Velo Sport hasn't been gone over yet)

Marinoni and Proctor

Gianella (store brand made by Guvin, same people who made Miele) and Cyclops

Nice collection! Did you actually get to cleaning out the basement or just to cleaning the herd?

That's a great collection, Slash5!

Here's my contribution and favorite of the bikes I've owned over five decades, a 1987 Marinoni SLX Sports Tourer that I've posted often:

Beauty! Tell my those are the 180mm cranks! I have them in the "compact" version, great cranks. That bike looks 63cm c-c! huge.

Never thought, the odd one of my Raleigh's is probably Canadian made.

Thats a cool collection of what looks like my sized bikes!
Sharp looking paint, you are certainly a fan of the fade.

Here's a Douglas from the late 80's.
You sure about that Gianella? I talked to the shop and he said all steel frames came from Marinoni.

Well, I can't say no since I designed the paint for the Cyclops. However, I think it's more a sign of 80's style and paint jobs.

You know, it never fails, I start and then think to myself, I could do this on a rainy day or after dark. And I move on to something more interesting.

This is part of the collection of Canadian Made bicycles that have come my way over the years. The best of the bunch is my Cyclops which I still have...

...and one I wish that I had never sold, my Gardin Anniversary...

I've known the owners for 30+ years. Bicycles were sourced through both Marinoni and Guvin. Some of the entry level models even came from Japan, via Guvin.

If those are what you had stashed at the back of the basement I wonder what you had up front.

Definitely a fan of that red-and-yellow Cyclops. Great collection overall!

I'm down to just the Cyclops and the Marinoni after selling my Proctor at the beginning of the year.

I hope to find a Mariposa at some point, and might leave it at that for a while...though I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another Cyclops, and older Marinoni, a Proctor (hopefully a little less flexy than the one I had), a Derek Bailey built Rocky Mountain, or a back-in-the day Brodie Romax!

I know, feels a bit silly - the Canadian bike. I've had 2 or 3 too small for me and kinda junky that I flipped. I feel Miele's are over priced I think cause everyone recognizes them as decent vintage bikes. Waiting for a decent price with decent components.

Not unknown here in New England, but not exactly common either. All the ones I've seen have been at least mid-level. I DO like my Gara:

It's a 62cm ctc with 175mm cranks. I have three sets of those Logic triple cranks - two 175's and a 177.5. Love 'em, especially with TA rings.

Does Boyce Reeves count as Canadian?

This is my collection of 1: a lugged frame BRC mountain bike in all it's repainted glory. Apparently a mid 1980's piece from a long defunct British Columbia company that had the Japanese build their frames.

I guess you could call this one "French Canadian" since it's a Peugeot manufactured in Canada
