Timing chain size?

I was given this Tandem Magazine Onine, Roadtest Cannondale RT 2000 1996 Cannondale RT2000. The timing chain is fine, however I would like to know how one can determine what size the timing chain is? 7 speed or 8 speed? I would like to get a spare chain and remove some links for roadside repair and connecting links. Thank you

Since there is no derailer I think any size chain will generally work, we had a 8-speed on the sync & 9 on the drive, but when it came to replacement time I matched the sync to the drive with a 9-speed. One chain size, one less set of extra speed links to carry.

For what it’s worth, when I do replace my chain I’ll probably go here: https://co-motion.com/collections/st...g-chain-system
