Going to fall just short of my revised 300 mile goal for August (283.8 miles). I have a 6am flight tomorrow and no time to ride tonight.

I'll try for 300 in September, should be able to ride again on Friday.

I'm back riding after several years hiatus. 6 weeks of riding in so far. 660 miles. Dropped 12 pounds so far in about 3 weeks of weighing myself, so I've probably lost at least 20 I'm guessing. Still at 224 pounds today and goal is to get under 200 pounds. Weight loss is plateauing this week it seems like. Will try to eat better to get it going again.

But I'm super happy with the FTP gains. Up to 312 today. And was around 134 estimated when I started out. Strava and the Garmin gps/power meters are pretty awesome. Even if you're not losing the weight, it seems you can always find some stat to feel confident that the work you are putting in means something.

Keep up the good work everyone.
Got to 618 miles in August (25 rides). Best weight was a few days ago at 219. I've plateaued again and today at 221.

Vo2 max improved today up to 50 from 43 at first. Max power hasn't improved. Garmin says I'm peaking right now but I'm pretty damn sore after the 30 mile ride today. Think I'll keep my monthly goal of 600 miles and 150 miles a week.

201 miles, way short of my goal. I've always said that I'll reach my goal barring problems with my body or my bike. In this case, our son and GS were visiting for 2 weeks, and we had planned to ride a lot. Unfortunately, son was sick for the 1st week, and we had to take time for urgent & important car repairs the 2nd, so we got in less than half the riding that we expected to do. That was 75-125 miles that didn't get ridden. I couldn't bear taking off myself while son was sick. The three of us did 50-odd miles, though. GS. rode at 15 mph for 5-10 minutes, then 8 mph for 5-10 minutes. This old bod had trouble with that.

1001 miles for the year.

Vacation for a week without bike in September - goal is 200 miles

Goal 250

It was a good month. I have to give a shout out to my better half who logged 150.41 miles this month, I'm extremely proud of her. She bonked really hard on one of our rides this month but it didn't discourage her from getting back on and planning longer and longer rides trying new nutrition to find what works for her.

Soooo close! Yesterday was my birthday, and I always do a long ride on my birthday, last year a friend turned 52 and rode 104 miles, so I felt compelled to outdo him and rode 107. This year I planned to double my age, which meant 130 miles. I had the route all mapped, and it ended at a metro train station with a pub across the street so I could enjoy a birthday libation or two while waiting for the train back to town. Ah, the best laid plans. We’re having extreme heat in SoCal right now, and as I was climbing up the Ojai valley trail, my GoPro overheated and shut down. I quickly concluded that if it was too hot for my helmet cam, this newly-minted senior citizen had no business being there, so I turned around and headed for the Coast. Apple Maps found me a route and I made it in time for a Margarita, a beer, and some fish and chips before getting on the train. I guess I’ll try it again next year, though that’ll mean 132 miles. Still, yesterday was a good day. And two people on the train complimented my bike.
