Where did I or anyone else ever say you should throw away anything?

This is the most bizarre strawman argument I have ever come across.

That's not entirely true. Unfortunately, I've been on plenty of group rides/events where people told me I needed to ride a bike from this century. Or get more modern/updated drivetrain, pedals, shifters, wheelset, etc whatever. The positive comments usually balance out the negative ones, though.

Some people aren't happy with people doing their own thing. They think everyone around them needs to be thinking/acting the same.

If you seriously didn't care about the Joneses, you wouldn't waste time and resources cultivating and tending the lawn. Your cognitive dissonance is showing.

BTW, you were complaining because people are discussing you as the topic. What do you expect when you continually bash other people's values and hold your own up as an example?

Beng's got a point with the scythe, it's faster and a great way to show off the muscles to the ladies.

Regardless of the quality of the lawn, "mowing" grass is for appearances.

Really? I have not seen that. Just tell them to piss off. Or just let your legs do the talking.

Is anyone telling you to get a Britney Spears record?

Like the tale of John Henry, but without the sad ending.

Now here's some unreasonably priced innovation, actually kind of on-topic:

I hate the song Toxic with a bloody passion, and when I used to go to the gym, it always seemed to be the song playing when I was doing something that made wearing the headphones impractical. The hook on that song has a fingernails on chalkboard effect on me.

I have 18 and 23 year old daughters. I have been subjected to far too much BS over the years.

I can ignore most mediocre or bad pop music, but that song is specially irritating to me.

My oldest(son) is 20. The youngest (daughter) will be 18 in 2 weeks. Neither care for Brittany or that genre in general. Can't say the same for my wife. She might have a Brittany song or two on her playlist.

I'm just glad they didn't have those when I was young, or Dad would have had me to the 1 3/4 acre yard with that.
