In general, the crazy increase in the prices of used/C&V bikes in my area is exceeded only by the increase in gasoline. It's wild out there.

Wow, that says a lot. Vintage mountain bike stuff comanding high prices. Cool indeed.
I think the early high quality mountain bike stuff is unique in that it was made so well. I think it is worth the money to collectors. Why not?

I saw those a few days ago while checking to see what my old Raleigh bullmoose bars might fetch. Didn't imagine they'd go for $358!?! Dang, I've got to polish these up.

Well, in fairness, these were fillet brazed, and Tom Ritchey to boot. Not your average bullmoose bars. But still, that price....
Just before this auction, I won another bullmoose bar that was more reasonably price at $56...And I was surprised at how high that went.
