"Ask a Question get answers from real people!"

Does anyone else think BikeForums new pop-up "Ask a question..." window that appears every time you surf by the site is extremely annoying? I suppose the intent is to attract newbs, but it motivates me to go elsewhere PDQ.

Have never seen it, but the congenial, helpful individuals that post here and the superlative mods would more than make up for it. Many forums are crap fights where there seem to be trolls that like to argue about everything, but not here (hope I'm not being argumentative).

It's interesting that some browsers don't show this. It stays glued in the view until minimized, but the tab doesn't go away.

It is "extremely" annoying, particularly in half-screen mode, and I do tend to go away if I'm just lurking. Maybe that is its purpose... Since I learned the popup has a minimizing option, and that it does go away when I'm logged, it has become only somewhat annoying.

The topic has been discussed to death on the "Suggestions and User Assistance" forum. It's not a pop up "ad" but a new feature of Bike Forums. All browsers will show it. If you are logged in 24/7 you'll never see it. I only log in if I'm posting or looking at photos so I see it all the time. Only a minor annoyance on my desktop until I minimize it. More of an annoyance on my mobile device where it takes a careful aim to hit the minimize button with my pudgy fingers. Often I'll hit the ad behind it and then have to close that. Sometimes it will obscure the log in window which it is intended to encourage.
