FS: 1964 Bianchi Specialissima

SOLD

I have for sale a 1964 Bianchi Specialissima. 59cm CTC seat tube. Black with gold lug lining and chrome accents. This bike is in very good condition with all original paint and decals. Chrome is in good shape as are all components. I believe all components to be original except consumables and possibly the seat. There are numerous small scratches and scrapes but nothing serious. The chrome has some pitting and flaking but is in good shape for a bike of this vintage. I have had three of these now and this one is in the best overall shape by far and the black, gold and chrome is very striking.
  • Columbus frame
  • Campagnolo Record group set:
    • 151 BCD crank
    • Record rear derailleur
    • Record front derailleur with cable stop
    • shifters
    • bottom bracket
    • hubs (straight skewer)
    • pedals
  • Bianchi integrated head set
  • 3ttt Gran Prix stem
  • Universal 61 brakes and levers
  • original Universal hoods
  • Cinelli quilted saddle
  • Nisi tubular rims, Yellow Jersey tires
  • new bar tape
$1400 plus actual shipping using shipbikes. I can take detailed pictures of anything requested.

That's one of the best looking Specialissimas I recall seeing... If it were a 55 or 56cm size, it would be mine!

Damn thinning the herd!

Ok here are some more pictures and a clarification or two. I cannot verify the seat is Cinelli. No make markings at all I can find. Looks like a Cinelli but so do a few other seats. Photo of underside included. Rear tire is Continental Giro, front is Yellow Jersey. Including more detailed pictures of chrome and decals.

Headset is snug and turns smoothly with no binding or evidence of brinelling or excessive wear.

On the topic of Bianchi headsets, do they have a removeable insert for the bearing races in the frame? I've never seen one disassembled.

Edit: BTW, this is stunning and worse yet, my size.

I believe most do but it is almost impossible to get replacement parts for these now. That is a pretty big problem with the integrated headsets and why I mentioned the condition.

Yeah, that’s a very nice tuxedo at an equally nice price. It overlaps with another on the hooks here, otherwise…
