Yeah, this. On warmer days, even the two fans on high don't do enough. Of course, partly it's because what we call "the shop" in my garage has one standard sized door, no windows, and no exhaust fan, plus the garage door has been weatherstripped so there's no air coming in there. I end up raising the temp and humidity of that room pretty effectively.

It's not uncommon to have a different power indoors. I always feel riding the trainer is harder than outdoors too. Some of it might be cooling, but I think for me, some of it is the loss of sense of moving relative to the road.

For me, when riding a trainer without a distraction that makes me feel like I'm going somewhere I have great difficulty keeping my heart rate up. It takes a level of concentration which I find mentally exhausting. Then I tried "riding through" some ride videos a local cyclist had shot, and since they were roads I ride a lot, I know when the hard parts were, so on my dumb trainer I could replicate the difficulty by shifting to harder gears. Then I tried Zwift and a smart trainer, and I find that even better, at least in part because the shifting to easier gears when it gets harder is more intuitive. But there's also the thrill of the chase. When I was riding the Zwift Academy Finish Line ride yesterday, part of my motivation on the two climbs was catching and passing other riders. Same with the workouts - concentrating on catching and passing other riders made it easier to suffer.

EDIT: I dunno. Maybe it's because I'm an Old, but the idea of turning my car over to the mechanics without it being at least presentable is just Not What You Do. It's like flying - you dress neatly. Doesn't have to be fancy, but it's not PJ pants, for cripes sake. And you don't take your shoes off and wander the aisles in bare feet!

Top Gear, back in the Jeremy/Richard/James days, had a team of forensics experts go through a trio of used cars the boys had bought, all of which looked pretty clean.

They weren't. Ew. Just, ew.

Mind you, this may speak more to just how dirty the world is generally, more than those particular owners.

Been having issues with my real tubeless on my bike where they would not hold air for more than 2 days. I took the tire off and resealed it, changed to the orange sealant, but that did not help.
After that, I replaced the presta valve core a $5 item and BAM it worked like a charm. Was going to ride today, but its raining.

As you might or might not imagine, my car is pretty much spotless virtually all of the time. No one eats in my car, and I won't let my wife bring anything on board except bottled water.

I doubt this one storm made much of a dent in the drought. A lot of SoCal water comes from snow pack in the Sierra. Too early for anything meaningful up there.

wife wants me to bring the trainer with me to texas. I’m not opposed but I was really hoping she would use it. She keeps going through diet exercise cycles, and I hoped that having her bike set up on the trainer would help motivate her and also help set up a healthy schedule. She doesn’t make time for herself at all.

Trainer in texas would be nice. I don’t know how I feel about riding around unfamiliar roads and I could hop on it after different times. I’ll have to think about it.

Apparently, historic drought years interspersed with historic wet years will be the new norm, at least for NorCal. Not so sure about SoCal.

At the wedding I met my nephew's new FiL, he looked pretty lanky so I asked if he was a cyclist. He said he rides an aluminum Trek Emonda several days a week, there is apparently a lake outside Dallas (I think it's Dallas but could have been Houston) he rides around it and says it's a 20 mile loop. I gave him kudos, so to speak.

I eat snacks in my car sometimes but I always remove any trash and brush out any crumbs when I get home. I hate getting into a car that stinks.
My father had strict rules, none of us ate or drank in his cars, ever. No food or dirty dishes were left around the house, either.
