Quill stem with wee bit of rise
Has anyone made a quill stem with just a little bit of rise, thinking between the ground-parallelish 72° and the square 90°/0°. I've seen it with threadless stems, but my Googling has come up short with quills.
For example about the angle used on these:

and

Thanks!

Nitto "Dynamic 2" (different from just the "Dynamic") or the Nitto MT-11 might be what you want.

I do not believe you will find a quill stem with the angle you are looking for. I have used and really like the Technomic II stem as it moves things up just a bit.

Mid 90s several companies offered a 90deg quil stem as that was how Big Mig Indurain liked them. Once he faded from prominence, they disappeared.

Thanks, I'm afraid you're probably right. My search is completely for aesthetic reasons though. The hope is to find one ~80° to run parallel with a comfortably small downward angle for swept back bars.

Ritchey used to make one; it came standard on Bridgestone RB-1s circa 1992-93. It is almost exactly the same rise as what you pictured. Here is a drawing of the RB-1 from Bridgestones' 1993 catalog that shows it. What the drawing does not show is that it is TIG-welded, not cast. It also has a kind of short riser - maybe a hair shorter than old school Cinellis or 3ttts, although the slight rise may make up for that. I've never had occasion to compare them side-by-side so I don't know. In any event, this is no long-riser Technomic.
I have one knocking about in my basement somewhere if you're interested. (It was on my long-gone1992 RB-1, so keep in mind that it is 30 years old by now and I haven't had it on a bike in at least 20 years.) I think it's about 120mm reach, but I am by no means certain. I even think I know what incredibly disorganized box it's in . . . .

Nice, thanks for the tip. 120mm will be a little long for my purposes, but if you see it and it's in the ~90–100mm range I would definitely be interested.

You could get close to what you want with a threadless adapter and 6 degree stem from Velo Orange. Personally, I don't like the look of adapters, but VO pairs their stems and adapters for a unified polished look that isn't awful.

Assuming you've already checked with Velo-Orange and Rivendell, but just in case...

Is this Nitto stem on my John Clay in the ballpark? I think I got it from Boulder Bike.

Here's the FW33 if anyone's interested (https://global.bluelug.com/nitto-fw3...stem-dull.html)
