This weekend was a copy of last weekend with the addition of another over/under climb up Torrey Pines hill.

My legs are also hairy. Rode for the first time in 9 weeks yesterday. Holy crap. Avg. hr was 171 with a 189 hr max, but wattage was 221.

That's near threshold hr to go at recovery/ low-endurance wattage.

CTL was at 9. Most out of shape I've been in 6 years.

@rubiksoval what's going on? Were you injured??

Last weekend I rode MTB for 2 hrs with a buddy at Lake Hodges, good spot. Very challenging terrain! Then yesterday I rode 115 mi on a road bike surrounding an off season team training ride. Needless to say I'm hungry ATM.

He said to let pain be my guide and probably lay off the cross / running / dangerous mtbing.

After mtn biking (probably not a great decision to go, but....) yesterday it was a bit sore, but bounced back nice. I got the referral to a PT but my insurance doesn't cover a lot of the local PT places. Going to call around tomorrow at work if I get some time so I can hopefully get in at some point this week. It's agravating be injured and hearing storeis about these long recoveries doesn't sound awesome to me. I'll make it a goal to get an appointment tomorrow.

Haha last week I’d reached my limit with a really tough workout and Ex said no worries he’d give me a reworked version of it this week. Then I look at my schedule and I see the core of what I’ve got for today is even harder. I told my husband about it and he told me that’s what I get for being a complainer.

Ouch, I went out this morning and mostly did it, missed a little bit towards the end.

Then I got home to upload my data and realized I misread the schedule. Did the wrong workout, a harder version of what was actually scheduled. Doh.

Ha, it's actually cheaper for me to go directly to my local PT and pay out of pocket than it is to go to my GP, get a referral, and pay the copay!

Keep it chill, don't risk breaking yourself. It's the end of October, there is plenty of time to grab fitness back before the racing season starts!.

Was finishing my master's degree in September, then had a catheter ablation (they ran tubes up my femoral arteries to my heart) to zap some extra nerve cells in October after I was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (born with some extra nerve cells in my heart or something). Dr. isn't sure he got the problem area yet, but have to exercise to see it, so am "training" for another stress test in November.

I drove to LA today and on the way back stopped at Carson for a track workout. The session today was 5 scratch races. Great workout and fun time at the track.

I'm going to be in LA and SD next week. Flying out to LA on Thursday, going to Carson to do a track workout on Friday morning. I then drive down to SD on Saturday afternoon. My schedule is pretty full, but if any of you are around, let me know. Maybe we can meet up for a beer.

I'd say yes, but while I'm only about 60 miles from LA, that adds up to about 2 1/2 hours of drive time.

Glad to see I'm the only one who's let my legs get hairy. And grateful that my health issues are pretty minor in comparison. Make the 33 Healthy Again!

All this hairy leg talk is creepy. But it sort of goes with Halloween.

Fiesta Island this PM on a perfect day in SoCal. 30on/30off 3x10' 4' RBI. I have not done these in awhile so decided to do a change of pace from threshold hill climbs. I noticed one hair on my left leg in the sunlight. I plucked it out.

What % FTP are you targeting for the on/off portions? Can you share? I'd like to attempt these at some point.

Another unstructured 90' on the FG this morning. It's kind of nice just going for a ride.

My knee is not acting up so far this week but I can tell it's still not 100%. Walking down stairs is not normal. But riding is no issue and hasn't caused me any pain or long term aching. Been doing some stretches I found online for Patellar tenonditis. None of the local PT places are in my network or can get me in late enough in the afternoon that I don't have to take a whole day off work. F this adult ****.

Anyways, some easy rides and a ramp test today to restablish a base ftp to start out with. With 8 weeks of very, very little riding and very little aerobic work at all I managed to only see a drop in ftp of about 4% from where I guess I was at LoToja at the end of the season. Maybe even less. So that's a positive way to start out the season. All training right now is on the tt bike since that's the only bike I'll put on the trainer at the moment. The ramp test, however, was not done down in the bars.

My PT confirmed I tore the medial meniscus in my right knee, but said it's relatively minor and that aside from hiking or like, basketball, I should ignore the pain and go about my business and it'll feel mostly normal in a few weeks. Ramping up through the beginning of next week, adding half an hour a day and just kinda riding whatever pace feels right.

10mi of hard rain, hard wind time trial practicing. The NCSU team riders were nice accomodating the yo-yo of passing. I couldn't even cross into the pain cave it was sketchy enough.

Even so, if I zoom in on the part of the lap spent in power it was 15 to 20w more than my last 10 miler. But, wet pavement paint markings and cornering at speed is a bad idea. So I slowed down a lot to corner.

22.5 mph with 60 feet per mile elevation and strong wind/rain. I'll take it. Pretty sure much more speed was possible with normal power and dry pavement and not thunderstorm winds.

Geesh, first ride back out on the TT setup and it was a HTFU bad weather session.
