Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just for fun I checked my Strava Profile for segments and it says I have 5 KOMs, 3 are cycling and 2 are running.

It’s integrated into a lot of our systems as well as telling us extactly how high we are AGL. So I got to shoot some low approaches and fly low level around harrisburg to make sure it was working properly. I didn’t get to buzz the tower though, ironically the pattern was full.
Excellent!

How was it flying the ERJ empty?

Reminds me of my father when he was a safety officer in the T-37. Lots of times he would get sent out in a Tweet with a couple of hours of gas and a short test itinerary. So he would complete his required tasks, then climb to the top of the MOA and do acro the whole way down. I think besides flying Eagles it was his favorite time in the USAF.

Related, I have an entry in my log book for spin orientation training in a T-37. I'm quite happy with that .75 or so of twin turbine time

As far as the FDA is concerned, that's efficacy.

Jealous you got to fly that. That is on my bucket list.

Flew it empty a lot back in April when the whole covid thing was in full swing. We do reduced power take offs per rolls royce recommendations. At reduced power it will take off at 1500 feet easily. Full power we might be able to get off at 1000 if we really were trying for it. Landing light she tends to float even when you are on Vref, so trying to stick a landing requires a little bit more effort than when she is full. This particular flight was fun, just because it was my first time up since I joined the airline industry with out having to go from point A to point B.

You can go around and torque things up to spec, I suppose. Some here would suggest you ultrasound the frame for cracks.

So, does one need the Park cable routing kit or do any of the less expensive alternatives work well?

Buy an 80s steel bike. Problem solved.

You might have to route the rear brake cable but no kits needed for that

For what? Fishing cables/lines through the frame? I just use a strong magnet and a little bit of metal tied to some dental floss. Easy.

whew! Crisis averted.

if you ever have an occasion to buy anything from Merlin, add a pair of these to your cart. Along with extra sets of deda tape as well .

my hands are quite sweaty (ick) and it chews through tape very quickly, so I tend to stock up when I’m purchasing stuff.

Guess I was the only one who noticed, but the question didn't specify football and in basketball UT has won 5 of the last 6 games.
